It's been 2 years because he stopped doing online games in order to dedicate himself to OTB playing to prove himself after he was caught and admitted to cheating online. In other words, he took the 2 years to perfect his method of cheating for OTB playing.

You know he's admitted to cheating online, right? He just didn't admitted to how many times he cheated online.

The only way for him to come clean is with Ex Lax and Prune Juice.

The way I would cheat at chess in person is to have a dental implant with a completely passive attenna that just picks up a certain radio frequency and then plays that as sound by bone conduction, very similar to how some people with dental fillings say they can hear radio stations. You would the just need an accomplice watching the game with a smartphone and broadcasting on the frequency with a small radio. The metal detectors and EM detectors they scanned him with would be useless to pick up this passive cheating device because it emits nothing. And dental fillings are so common, they are not going to knock his teeth out.

Experts can determine if the kid made too many perfect (per the engines) moves.

The accomplice would just put what he sees from the livestream of the board into a chess engine on his smartphone and then use the handheld radio to broadcast what the next movie would be either as audio, Morse code, or whatever signs. The accomplice doesn't even have to be nearby if he uses HAM radios with some power. The tooth implant or filling would just play the signal back as bone conduction sound that only he can hear.

That's not necessarily true. In fact probably the biggest expert at chess cheating that is hired to investigate such questionable games has concluded that he did not cheat in his victories over Magnus.

Also, as Magnus and many others have discussed, a relatively strong GM wouldn't even need any specific moves to be transmitted from an engine or collaborator. If, just once or twice during the entire game, the player receives a simple signal that a critical position has been reached, or a simple indication that one stands better or worse in a particular position, the effect on game results and performance ratings can be huge.
