Only horror movie to"stay with me" constantly putting fear in me

This movie is almost kind of....pretty? The music, cinematography, dialog. I wish I would have seen this in a theater when it came out.

Sleepaway Camp (1982) is kind of weird/funny horror film. But those last three minutes are some of the most terrifying moments I've ever seen in a movie. Just so f-ed up on so many levels.

Martyrs (French Version) has some of the harshest, goriest moments I think I've seen in a movie. But there are some really emotionally tough scenes where people are in so much pain that it's hard to sit through. It's basically an endurance test to sit through, but a very good film.

Hereditary / Midsommar are made by the same director and gave me the same tense feelings.

There have been some non-horror films that have required a bit of strong stomach. Namely, 4 Months 3 Weeks & 2 Days and Happening which are both about abortion. The Nightingale is also an incredibly tough watch. I saw all three of these in theatres was eyeing the exits a bit.

The series We children of Bahnhof Zoo really bothered me. The death bits. Awful. Awful.

OK, I just looked this up. I see it's connected with Christiane F, a movie I saw a long time ago. Rented it on VHS. Gross, dour movie.

The Human Centipede. Creepy thing is that in nazi concentration camps, they did exactly this to prisoners and they lived for a couple weeks before death.

I want to say The Exorcist but I'm going with Jeepers Creepers.

I just saw "Pearl." I got momentarily nauseous when Pearl dumped her crispy charred but apparently alive mother into the basement.

I agree with Sleepaway Camp. I haven’t seen the whole movie, but the ending legitimately disturbed me, even at a mature age…those terrible sounds…

I've watched a ton of horror movies in my life, so most don't really scare me. Certain scenes do "stay with me" I guess. One's not even really a horror movie, "Fire in the Sky." The scene with the space suits. Another sci-fi horror movie that was freaky was "Event Horizon."

The fu**in clown from terrifier did it for me. The kills in that movie made me throw up in my bathroom.

that movie is messed up, my roommate showed it to me a couple of months ago and I still can't get the image of the decapitated girl out of my mind.

Jeepers Creepers, yes. When Justin Long finally goes down the well and sees everything down there. And that d*mn truck. I live in the middle of nowhere and drive on a lot of roads through nothing, and the thought of that truck popping up on one of them makes me uneasy.

A couple others that scared/disturbed me:

The Descent: When they're all standing in a circle in the cave and the alien is just standing in line with them. I jumped out of my seat and spilled my drink everywhere

Backcountry: I will never watch this movie again. When the bear rips his face off in the tent and they show it. Turned my stomach and is the only movie/scene that has ever given me nightmares. I've watched a thousand violent/bloody movies but I just could not handle that

Jaws, Halloween, Scream and I guess Paranormal Activity. I usually think of these when I'm alone in a dark place. I seen these before I became a Bekele fan. Now I try to think of Bekele and imagine I'm him running a 26:17 10,000m WR pre supershoes and the doping that the latest new elites take. This should remove the fear from you

I would have to say "The Strangers"...too similar to a house I grew up in and really could happen. Someone knocks on your door at night, you answer, and then the group torments and kills you and leaves by morning.

Event Horizon is a really creepy movie that doesn't get nearly enough credit.

This one came to mind for me immediately. I like the outdoors and live in the woods and there are a lot of black bears. Even though the scenario of a super aggressive, predatory black bear is improbable, it is nonetheless of terrifying. Of any animal, bears probably scare me the most because it's one of a handful of species where there's literally nothing you can do if one decides it wants to kill you. It runs faster than you, can climb better than you, can swim better than you and is WAY stronger than you.

The ring was also the one that stuck with me for a while, but I was 9 when I watched it
