The story indicated her "plan" was to bluff a half way prize attempt. Go out way too fast...BUT then just keep going! Why did i never think of that? Just go out way too fast to trick everyone, but keep going. Give me a break. Thats not a plan, its just being the best.

I am sure if Katir did the same you wouldn't have the same opinion.
Rarely seen amongst the fairer sex, but she was able to utilize "Pure Hate" in the last 800m to break the course record along with the will of her competitors.

What are you on about? People are much less likely to cover a move if it is early in a race or they think that the leader will drop back to them. Just look at Yasemin Can in the European 10,000m a couple of weeks ago- she made a big move at 7km and noone followed her. You can then go back to a more reasonable speed, having already completed your 'finishing kick'. It's a dangerous tactic that requires both fitness and mental strength but getting ahead by such a large margin unexpectedly early is a legit tactic and it paid off for Muir.
Didn't Kipyegon comletely break the field in a big 1500 and wasn't Muir part of the field back then? So the field not only got smoked by Muir in the mile but the lady who smoked them (Muir) got smoked by another runner previously. Seems the field needs to get their act togther and run faster.
Kipyegon crushed Muir all season, and wasn't the only East African athlete to do so.
The Fifth Avenue mile is well-known for curating very white fields, focusing on US and European athletes to the exclusion of African runners.
It is a second-tier event relative to any Diamond League race all season.
But also, what's up with the all the post removals in this thread?
I made a comment about the second place finisher and that was removed. I then made a comment about how heavily moderated this forum is and that got removed also.
Seriously what happened to this forum? You can't say anything anymore. It was a great gutsy race by Laura which no one could match. This comment will also probably get purged. Why? Don't know.
But also, what's up with the all the post removals in this thread?
The reason is anonymity. Forums with anonymous posters have to moderate their posts. When they begin censoring, they become responsible for everything that appears. By this process, exchanges without names eventually become meaningless. It's known as low entropy communication.
