Southlake Carroll is a great school to get recruits from. One of their top returners Hunter Hill transferred to Rocky Mountain ID, the team that won state last year and looking to challenge for an NXN spot this year.

It will be interesting how he does last year of HS new location, new coach, new teammates, and different training. So far he's still adapting, he's 30 seconds back from teammates that ran within couple seconds of him last year Garmin.
Thinking outloud, but if you are in a top program like Southlake Carroll that will win state again and fight at national meets, why move? I can see if you were Southlake #8-10 and could be #1-3 somewhere else, Hill was #2-3 on Southlake though.

Maybe his parents got a new job?
Also, senior Cutting from Corner Canyon Ut moved to Oregon and goes to a school that’s like 20 minutes away from Jesuit OR. Could have been a good 5th man there, something Jesuit is lacking now. Guess Jesuit is not as good at recruiting as other top schools huh
Anyone ever hear of football or basketball? For some of you I doubt it, but I have a feeling they recruit. Seriously...who cares if it happens in XC and track now? I still know NP does not recruit directly. Success does. They are simply victims of getting a decent pipeline of kids from middle school track and a Junior Olympic team that have a decently structured training program. That's it. This is what most high school programs in the country do not have.

Crater OR beat Southlake Carroll. So if Rocky Mountain beats them at NXR it will likely mean that they are better than SLC this year. However, Bullard didn’t have a good race though. And Alvarez is back but he raced JV but should be back on varsity.
Golomb (9:32 in the 3200) ran his first race of the season but I don’t know if he will be varsity this year. David Fisher (number 1 last year) also ran his first race in a while. Seniors Ortiz and Freeman are ranked lower on the team than last year but I’m sure they are both trying to end up in the top 7 because they were on there last year. Since there is so much competition for varsity spots, it pushes everyone to do better. If there is anyone injured or that has an off-day, there are other people to rely on. But Southlake Carroll might end up a lot better at the end of the season than now. Podium is their goal this year and this achievement is not out of reach for them, since their South region foes Jesuit LA aren’t doing NXN, but RunningLane. But Rocky Mountain does have 5 guys who already broke 16 in the 5K this season. And some more guys in the low 16s.
