the same knee she got surgery on? or the other one ?
I swear, people talk about every little detail of teenage girls way too much
Ridiculous. There is nothing inappropriate about talking about the specifics of an injury. And Tuohy is 20.5 years old, by the way.
Are you insinuating that this is somehow "sexually inappropriate"? That kind of preposterous false allegation minimizes real inappropriate acts.
Do you condemns REAL acts of perversion, such as taking elementary school age children to drag queen shows and having them dance with and be groomed by drag queens? If not, then stop with your pretense.
Tuohy and Chmiel are Affirmed and Alydar reincarnated. This year is gonna be epic!
First, in response to the title of the thread. …..Tuohy is the best CC runner right now on NC State’s team and the clear favorite to win the title in November. I’m not sure after her track season how anyone can argue differently. Yes many things can change from now to November, but she has to be the clear favorite right now.
Second, Chmiel is the ultimate workhorse, grinder, and gutsy CC runner in HS history and transitioned that to her college career. But that’s be honest, there is a point where this all catches up to a runner and then natural talent comes into play. After losing a whole season to injury (and her status is still unknown), it is an unreasonable expectation to think that Kelsey will be as good this CC season as last year’s stellar season. NC State needs to hope that she is healthy enough to be their third or Fourth at season’s end if they want to repeat. She is probably NC State’s best team focused runner and is working her tail off to get back into shape from injury to help them repeat. But she is not naturally as gifted as a Tuohy, so she can’t just jump back into being at the level she was last year. It will take some patience and time.
Lastly, after NCAA’s at Hayward it should be obvious that if Starliper stays healthy she will be NC State’s clear #2 this season and could be in the top 5 in Stillwater. This potentially could be the season and year we see the Wolfpack’s top two recruits of 2020 start looking like a Hocker/Teare combo.
Clear in your mind but not clear to most people. There are runners like Chelangat and Roe and a few others that make things very muddy. Want to bet $1000 that Tuohy wins the individual title?

I kind of agree it is hard to see a clear favorite among Tuohy, Valby, Chelangat, Roe, McCabe. And who knows who else might take a big step. $1000 for Tuohy against the field with no odds seems like a bad bet right now. Are there any sites offering the bet?

Top seven projection and prediction:
Tuohy
Starliper
Chmiel
Bush
Seymour
Nevada Moreno
Gionna Quarzo
I recall somewhere reading that Chmiel's injury this past outdoor track season was pretty minor. I expect her to be near the top of her form fairly shortly. But given Tuohy's upward trajectory (title in 5k outdoor, etc), I expect Tuohy to be ahead of Chmiel. Agree that Starliper will perform very well, but would project her around 15-20 at nationals. Is there a reason that you expect Moreno or Quarzo to jump into the top 7? They were outside the top 7 last year, with both Shaw and Holt being better than them (who are both returning). I agree on your top 5, but would put Shaw, Holt and Brooke Rauber being ahead of Moreno and Quarzo for those 6th and 7th spots.
I would love to make some bets if sites have odds. There is no clear favorite except in the minds of overzealous fans. Cook and Hutchins are out there also. And there will be some freshmen finish high who we are not even considering.

fwiw Tuohy and Chelangat may face each other at ND Sep 30, and Tuohy and McCabe may face each other at Nuttycombe Oct 14. Roe and Valby don't seem to face anyone at the top level until at least their conference meet (Valby - Van Camp - Chelangat). Roe may face Covert of CO, and Van Camp (and Hutchins!) at Cowboy Jamboree Sep 24
It may work out that way, but at this point I don't think there is any "Gospel" and I can see a lot of things in their current rankings that need to be changed (ie ineligible runners). But right now they show NC State winning in what looks like a rout.....Not sure I agree it will work out that way...
At this point it is throwing darts at a board. Seem to recall that same report did not have KT rated number 1 in the 5000 before the ncaa championship.

I think NC state’s 6th will be Rauber. Shaw could be in the top 7 or maybe even top 5 but she seems to be better at track.
