Pete's been on the prowl for a new gig all summer. From what I hear he was about to have a mass exodus of runners if he didn't. Don't expect anyone to follow him
So is watson gonna finish this season out or will he be starting immediately and id so did he inform his boss or at least his athletes ? So many questions and nothing from watson or texas so im guessing its a surprise.
This is standard practice. Outgoing personnel aren’t permitted to talk to old athletes for fear of poaching. And there’s a large gap in time from signing a new deal to when it’s published or acknowledged by the older team. Quit acting like there’s malevolence at work.

I never insinuated anything was malevolent in intent only stating possible scenarios as there have been cases where athletes were surprised at coaching departures. Also i questioned the logistics around the matter because just last week watson was excited to be back in austin and talking of how the team was trickling back into austin for training. So my curiosity isnt far fetched
Insider info says that Watson handled the leave poorly, and the team was told extremely late. Seems like a good opportunity for positive growth for the texas men
So in your opinion how would he have properly handled his departure?
I often feel like people think the coach is supposed to throw a party and talk to each athlete for 20min about how much they appreciate them or something.
In reality, just dipping is maybe the best way to go and the least likely way to break any rules.
Amazing how fast word travels. Yes, ex-nop is moving to Austin. Expect to see Rodgers not follow, Brazier overjoyed to be out of Oregon, and enough college hotties to keep Engels in business for at least a couple of seasons.
Mu to follow.
Is Pete Julian the Rose Monday of American mens middle distance running?
heard rumor Carrozza daddy was interested in the gig.
I heard he was already coaching a lot of the kids on the side, I'm sure Watson was over it.
Still surprised he left for Boston College, after a pretty successful year
He didn’t throw a going away party with cake and balloons? He was an assistant. College athletics is a business. People come and go. It’s part of the work world. These “students” need to learn something besides wastes like art history.

It’s impossible to know his motivations. It could have very little to do with his job and something in his personal life or desire to live in Boston?
In the end, we all have a lot of variables nobody knows about from our job going on in our lives.
or maybe he hates Texas!? lol
either way, he was at Texas for more than a few years and he did a solid job.
Yeah, I can't figure that out either though. No kids it appears so going to a superior school district near Boston doesn't fit. Wife owns some gyms down south, could maybe want to expand, but her niche seems to be in the south so far. He's from Canada but largely has worked in the south for a long time so no indication that fits either.
