Most tracksters can be competitive in other events but that doesn't make them a legit true decathlete. Keep in mind he'd be competing against real decathletes, who can he beat, yep......nobody.
Give him a 19 foot vault, 10.4ish 100m, 48ish 400, 6'6 HS, What a 14.5ish hurdler? Then here comes the shot/javelin/discus and the end to his decathlon hopes.

So to start with I have known his father since 1977 when Greg was in highschool. Greg would later room with my close friend and teammate Bobby Beck at LSU. While I was coaching in New Jersey I would run into Greg all the time at Millrose while he was still vaulting. It was great seeing him work with his son through the years. So yes I know people to mister x navy squid . My family has over 300 years in the military starting with my grandfather. Everyone of them wearing brass. Go hustle some insurance and give me a quote for some extra fire coverage.

I had from Fresno to Bakersfield amd all points in between I worked for California Farmer magazine, all these farmers were subscribers, they were the ones I called on. I did this for 33 years, and once I sold a policy I was now their agent and would take came of them. Dropped by once a year to make sure things were cool insurance wise, I sold 1000's of people in 33 years, ok rookie?
Now add I have a large familt with three older sisters, now add my city flag football friends and all those folks at the church.

You know he went 23'5" as a junior in high school? And he only competed 4x that season.

2 months of training back in 2017. That's it.
Mondo would absolutely go over 24'6" if he was taking decathlon seriously. In fact, he would likely have had the best or at least a top 3 mark at the recent world champs, where third place was a hair over 25'. He's prob a 24'6" guy with about a month of training for it. Maybe less time than that.
While a junior in hs, Zach Ziemek went 11.68 for 100 and 22'5" for LJ. Mondo ran the 100 twice his senior and went 10.57. And 10.57 is the exact time that Ziemek just ran at the WCs...as a 29 year old in his prime.
Mondo could put on about 7-10 pounds of muscle and medal at the Olympics.
