2:18 in Las Vegas and 1:04 Philadelphia distance. 120 to 140 miles a week. Mostly training in the heat and humidity of New Orleans but had several summers in Colorado where I ran about 110 a week. Also trained in New Jersey TRI state area.

To claim 14 or 16 miles is not a long run is laughable. Unless you are world class you are in no position to claim that.
I believe that was before he started doing 90+ minute long runs though. If I remember, he never ran for longer than like 50 minutes at a time. He was fast, but he lacked the aerobic strength to keep up with people like Coe in the last 200.
