I think they should rename the female category. I don’t know what they should call it, but something entirely new and neutral to avoid backlash over the implication that transgender females and not female. Just create a new protected category based entirely on biology that entirely sidesteps the culture wars.
“Female” does refer to biological sex.
It’s “Woman” or “Women” that activists argue are gendered terms, which, in their minds, one could theoretically identify as.
I’m not here to argue either way, but I just thought I’d point this out.
No. The only fair thing is to eliminate all categories. The best competitors win regardless of sex or age or gender or weight or height. That is true sport.
Why do posts like this get so many downvotes? It’s the only answer. Why are we afraid of this?
Because you would be insuring that 50% of the population would know, from the moment they are born, that they have a 0% chance of ever being successful in sport. That seems pretty grim. If you fell into this category, would you want that to happen?

I’m 6’3” I known from a very young age I will not be able to succeed in many sports as I’m too tall.
where’s my category, you discriminate against us tall folk, I also have big feet so my running shoes are heavy.
wouldn’t it be nice to be a large women size aka the success endurance runners man size with their size US7 feet and 5”7’ height

"Many Sports" not "every single sport in existence."
There are countless sports in which being 6'3" is a huge advantage. Go play one of those.
P.S. There are a ton of 6'3" guys that have done well in endurance sports (distance running included).

but that’s not the point is it. You are at a disadvantage for the get go and the answer is do something else. Might as well tell women that they are doing going to do well so pick something else you will be good at, that’s not inclusive or fair is it and Is that the point of this discussion.
You are right in the last 5/10 years we have seen 50%+ being the winner of all male endurance running when taller than 6”0’ oh wait that’s a no so guessing there must be a reason, maybe we are doing other sports, maybe gymnastics or horse riding?

If you choose a track distance below 5000m you'll find plenty of world class athletes over 6 feet tall...Jakob and Filip, Cheruiyot, Wightman, Kerr, McSweyn, Hoare, not to mention almost every athlete for the sprint events. Even in ultramarathons you get 6ft+ folk like Walmsley and Francois. So there are clearly many avenues for tall people to succeed in running Now tell me how many females could compete with any of those men, or indeed the best male high schoolers? Your argument is the definition of false equivalence.

Thanks for making my point.
With certain physical attributes you see there is a advantage/disadvantage overs others, you would expect with an average world wide male size around 5’9” if one sport favour size either larger/smaller you would see that group do better, but that does not mean that a x number of individuals at the other end of the spectrum can’t perform well but that’s not the expected norm.
this whole thread is about how women can’t compete with men, hence a female category. If you add other groups into that category they are at a disadvantage, that does not mean they can’t success it just make it more challenging as we have seen in real life examples from junior through professional sports.
