I'd add that more BTC athletes should have spoken out against their coaches actively supporting a banned doper, and allowing her to train on the same track with them.

Now we know where their loyalties lie: pro doper, against World Athletics/Wada.

So is Andrea Seccafien 10,000m Olympian (knee surgery last week). Add in Justyn Knight & Gen Lalonde (S/C finalist) who are out for the season, and Matt Hughes who just retired due to injury and the Canadian distance team for Eugene is without any of it's finalists from Tokyo except for Mo (& John Gay). Elmore/Wodak both opting for fall marathons over worlds too. So this distance team is a shadow of what it was a year ago in Tokyo. Let's go Mo!

She actually alludes to the distractions around Shelby as a reason she got the stress fracture. Dealing with lots of things created stress, and any stress is stress....

I thought you were joking but she actually did suggest stress around that situation caused her fracture.

Sacral stress fractures generally show up in people who aren’t eating enough I thought.

she had a bad race at world indoors after record breaking performances in february, then proceeds to continue hammering training for another 3+ months.. its not a shock why she's injured.

So she mentions eating, and the last thing she mentions is stress.

Addy Townsend might step up and make it in Bish's absence, but yeah, Canada kind of cursed right now. Womens 5000 last year we had 5 women eligible and this year zero.

Many uncommon things happen to people which are due to physical laws which have NOTHING to do with this karma you speak of. You said this to your wife? You deserve each other if she just agreed with you.

Was waiting for her to directly blame Shelby for this stress fracture. Never wish anyone injury especially in a World or Olympic year, but can’t say I’m sad she’s injured. Take responsibility for your own actions. You got distracted by the Shelby drama, you didn’t eat and rest/recover properly, and you certainly overtrained and didn’t listen to YOUR body. That is no one but G’s fault

She said it was caused by issues with her strength/mechanics, fueling, recovery, and stress. If you get "it's Houlihan's fault, i didnt do anything wrong" out of that, then that's a you problem.

Far more importantly than people reading too much into things, I noticed in today's obituaries that the grandmother of the Stafford sisters (that is the mom of their deceased mom), passed away last week. Looks like a long battle with cancer.

The amount of people out here trying to make cheap shots at someone and make it about something it isn't, is sad.

It can't be easy losing a loved one and having a season ending injury in the same week. I wish her the best in bouncing back.

I hadn’t noticed before, but this video has a head-on view of a slow motion finish and GDS does have quite a bit of side to side pelvic motion, as opposed to Kipyegon who is very pulled up and stable through her core.

Still a near zero opportunity for the USA. Kipyegon, Hassan, Hailu and Muir should have the medals locked up. Embaye, Meshesha, Hull & Hall are next in line.

Schumacher has a very long list of athletes that have had serious or career ending injuries or burnout. That would be another good reason for GDS leaving.

Maybe but Hailu is not listed to run the 1500 and Purrier st. Pierre beat Hull and Embaye in the world indoors. I agree that Kipygon is a lock for gold and Meshara likely the silver.

Uh she got hurt like 3 months after leaving BTC my guy. So don’t think you can pin this one on Jerry.
