Are there women that made a succesfull comeback after having a second child? I can't think of any.
Going through pregnancy changes a body, she'll probably retire soon after giving birth.
Stephanie Rothstein Bruce and Keira D’amato both had incredible success coming back from second children…but to make a comeback you need to have something of a career to come back to. The “it” factor was just never there for Gwen when it came to running. If she was still doing triathlon, it would be another story, but I just don’t see her winning an Olympic gold in the marathon after this.
Not to be snarky but D'Amato hardly had any career in running pre children. I don't know of any major accomplishments until she kinda came out of no where and ran a record time on a fast course in super shoes. We'll see if she's in the mix for Paris but I'm not betting on it... Honestly her marathon record seems like a joke to the sport.
Gwen Jorgensen announced via Youtube that she is pregnant with her second child (so exciting!). Any thoughts on this and the implications for her career?
Like Jenny Simpson she is finished. She was never a great runner but she was a great triathlete.
Jenny Simpson was a great runner what are you talking about?! When did Jenny do the triathlon?

She was top 6 in NCAA XC where she beat Molly Huddle, Jenny Simpson and Shannon Rowbury and Amy Cragg. Post college she had to have surgery but she could've had the same trajectory as all those women if you're just talking about talent.
She probably is an influencer, probably has savings and manages money well (accounting background). She'll probably have a good job as an accountant even if things don't work out at the pro level.
A lot of wealthy people you see on social are probably hard workers, but some may have inheritances, trust fund money, etc. Esp. in the running world (in Eugene, Boulder, Austin and on both coasts).
I met a few people who live modestly but have family trust funds--you couldn't tell it by their appearance but they're set for many years (each of their sibs get a cut, too).
Yeah I have heard that pretty much no one under 40 is buying Boulder real estate without family money. Period.
Interesting, good to know. A lot of people my age have $$ but now I'm wondering how many of them are trust-funded. They probably keep it on the DL for good reason.
