He is 27, three years shy of average retirement age in the NFL. HE should go wherever the most money is. I have no idea what kind of money he stands to make as a hurdler.

Or as a football player. Maybe for him, money isn’t everything and there’s an intangible value to winning a Gold Medal compared to being a mediocre football player.

Who told you that? Most guys in n.f.l. don't even make it to age 27. He's faster than the average NFL guy but he's not a v
I think when he's 50-60 he'll regret going to the NFL. What did Eric Dickerson just say?
I NEVER have a good day and he's about my age.
CTE and the damage that football does to your body are real. I have a friend who got the the World League of American Football and played a couple pre-season NFL games and he's sacred.
He's 40ish, a family, 2 kids and he says he notices his brain deteriorating and he feels helpless.
I get tired of people trying to tell me.....track speed is different than football speed. No it isn't, TONS of pro footballers were HS/NCAA sprinters and hurdlers.
What people mean by that is in football not only do you have to be fast but also have the ability to change directions. You could be a sub 10 sprinter, but if you don't have the eye sight, hand eye coordination, be able to read holes etc. Good luck making it in the NFL.
pro football player (who knew the difference) said- in football you're quick, sprinters are fast. That's the difference.
But that doesn't mean a sprinter isn't quick. But the football player fast? I think we saw that last summer.
Pursue Paris try and medal in the Championships. Making quick direction changes running full speed in football could reaggravate knee problems. His career could be longer in track and field.
He will be cut after preseason and the decision will be made for him. If he is lucky he makes it through camp and preseason with both knees and can return to the track and build towards Paris.
If we were to list the 50 best N.F.L. receivers of all time and if were to list the 50 fastest N.F.L. players of all time, maybe only Randy Moss makes both lists.
Tyreek Hill would disagree and I'd argue that Tyrrek Hill is faster than Devon Allen.
Should he quit football and run track only? No. He's done that for 5 years and didn't medal. He's better at track when he's also doing football.
Devonte Smith and AJ Brown are locks. Jalen Reagor and Quez Watkins will be tough to beat out. Greg Ward is a solid slot receiver. There are a few more currently. They will go with five receivers most likely. The fans would love to see Reagor traded.
Reagor is probably the worst WR in the NFL. Watkins isn’t great, but he’d probably have Allen’s role (fast player, gadget plays). Agree that Brown and Smith are locks though
He already signed a 3-year $2,560,000 contract with the Eagles. Only $40,000 is guaranteed, however so he has to make the team to get paid. Doubtful he could make that much money running track, however it's a great fallback if he doesn't make the team.
Hell no. He's already been to 2 Olympics. He is going to get way more money in the NFL if he makes the cuts. Even the min nfl salary is life changing money.
