someone who has more time and energy on their hands than me should check out times of 1500/1600 high school females who are both national elites making olympic/wc teams now and lower level pro runners. I would be curious to see those
This site is too obsessed with high schoolers, period. It’s flat out creepy.
Runners World used to print out a smaller edition called like Runners World High School or some crap every so often and mail a few copies to our XC team back in the day. (Early 2000s). I quite enjoyed it.

a quick peruse of data
of the top 20 hs mile/1600/1500 times
2013 Cranny seems to be doing the best
2014 Dani Jones/Efraimson seem to be doing the best
2015 Sage Hurta seem to be doing the best (Tuohy was #12 on 1500 i at 4:36)
2. Alexa Efraimson 4:07.05: Is she a world beater? No. But she has had an OK professional career. Post-teenage years she has run and finished as high as 5th at USA Outdoor Championships in the 1500m which is pretty solid. She hasn’t dropped crazy fast times but she has made a career out of this sport and trains with one of the premier track groups. If she went to NCAA and ran the times she posted as a pro we would all be super impressed. I would hardly call her a failure.
