The age and grade stuff is dumb. I don't know or care what the rules are, but if a 19 year old runs at a non-high school track meet, after the season is over, not wearing their high school uniform, and they technically break a high school record, my response is a resounding "whatever".
Exactly. The only valid post graduation comp that should ever count for HS is if your state meet is after graduation and you are competing for your high school.
Once you graduate , you are no longer in high school.

Assuming he graduates. If he doesn't, he would go to Adult HS next year because he would be too old to be allowed to hang out with high schoolers. Can and Adult High schooler set HS records?

Cade Flatt said WA is wrong by a year and he is 18.
It's honestly exhausting from both sides of this "debate" or whatever it is.
Here are the facts:
-He's old for his grade e.g. he turns 19 before mid-summer and might already be 19. I don't know, and I'm not sure people on here actually know.
-He was 18 at least through the indoor season, which makes the World Athletics' profile page misleading.
-This isn't that uncommon (an old HS senior a la Natalie Cook) but it's OK to note it as a factor when you're talking about a high school not age group record.
-Running 1:46.5 as a young college frosh/old HS senior is very impressive and holds up as a top performance and notable. Yes it gets extra attention for a high-schooler.
You say it's Cade's birthday
