Sheesh, this is a really amateur production. One camera, no on-screen results, clueless commentator. It's not hard to do this right, folks. Indoor at Case was 100x better.
Clearly I don’t know how to respond to a letsrun thread, Sam Craig shat the bed. Most definitely did not scare obroin from anything. Fingers crossed u guys can hit triple digit points tho!
that was about as bad of a day for cmu/as good of a day for washu as one can reasonably hope for
i'll have to run the numbers again but i'd guess cmu lost about 20 points and washu gained the same amount, so it flipped from cmu being a slight favorite to washu being probably 90% to win
with that said, the top-end talent (kiefel, halkias, miller) at cmu is crazy good
Tartans are cool under pressure. There’s still plenty of points left on the board, and given that WashU has never been graced with a meet at Slippery Rock, this coming adversity only seems to be helping CMU.
CMU probably should have been up 20 or so points to have a shot at winning after day 1, but some poor shot put and hammer throw performance means that WashU should have this title wrapped up. Events like the 100,200,800, and so on are pretty variable though, like WashU does have 4 guys in the top 5 for the 800, but less than a second separates that top 8. If things go just like the seed times, WashU gets the title, but anything can happen, like we saw indoors. CMU pulled some big points out of unlikely places to keep the meet close, and that's what they're going to have to do again to have a shot at this title. I got WashU winning a nailbiter, coming down to big points in the 5k for the title

Yeah, I think this is right. CMU is going to have to crush the 5000 to have a shot here. They left another 6 points on the table in the 100/200 and they basically needed to be perfect all the way through to have a shot.
TJ and DT will bring them within 10 but WU won't finish worse than 3rd in the 4x4 unless they DQ for some reason.
I feel like we're not going to get the field results until after the 4x4 so we're not really going to know who wins until WashU posts the final results about two hours after the meet is over.
I don't understand why the actual operation of D3 meets have to be so bad. Your average D1 meet has live timing, splits, the whole deal -- this crew seems like they're operating with a dial-up modem and two random guys who work for the school.

Meet is pretty much over now. WashU didnt score too much in the 5k, and Elijah Sech on CMU had a strong showing to get third, but a huge bomb from Michael Obroin ends CMU's chances

207-202 WU. Yeah, OBroin and Halkias today, Breidenbach yesterday. Congrats to the Bears.
That Emory 4x4 is going to be something else. Fost is a stud but the other three are also super strong and all freshmen.

OBroin tummy hurts, but not as much as it hurts to get f-ing devastated like that in the 5K. No mercy from Myers

Eh, for as much as I love bantz, there's also one thing to keep in mind -- these are some of the hardest, most work-intensive schools in the nation. Anyone who can balance the workloads at these schools with a travel sport deserves some big kudos.
Shockingly anti-clutch performance by the mellons. Should've had an EASY win. Will be interesting to see which team performs better at nationals. The mellons top end talent should theoretically give them the edge, but they'll need to actually show up and perform

Unlikely. UAA schools traditionally choke majorly on the big stage.
