That being said, Spencer’s lack of speedwork is strange. Maybe it’s due to injury concerns (seemed to have peroneal issues after sprint speedwork at Brooks), but he needs more work at race pace or faster. This doesn’t have to be grueling workouts, but I’ve seen little to no work from him that includes 400s, 300s, and 300s at his goal race pace or faster

I’m rooting hard for TAS but to be fair, I think the intern was well ahead of Spencer at that point. Intern ran very well.
everybody should be rooting hard for somebody living the dream of trying to become the best they can possibly be at running. I don't know what the ultimate dream is for a guy like him, but hope he gets there.

Ya'll are such haters. This is what I'm talking about with this website. Spencer represents a lot of what LRC stands for. Not a top-end elite but still very good & still chasing the dream. & you put up a headline saying he got spanked when he got tripped in the race. & you never chime in on any of the other threads when people just slam him for no reason. You should be more excited about guys like this.

Athlete Special had a deep cut from literally hitting his leg on the rail. Borderline stitches needed. But still walking, should be good in a week or two. Saw the intern, who was spanked by another modest runner I believe from Colorado St at the end.
