Go GDS! While BTC might not be doping athletes, the way they are handling the Shelby situation is idiotic. And I am not a fan of Jerry.

Probably the most logical take yet. These decisions can't be quick or easy things to make. Think about how long it takes for anyone else to make a major career decision, even when we're unhappy or frustrated, and we usually don't even have tell thousands of people.

I always liked GDS but now she has moved several rungs up the ladder. Now one of my favorites. I do expect her sister to follow. The question is, have the flood gates now been opened? Will we see more defections once one of their best has chosen to head for the exit door? Maybe she got sick of being part of a team that is routinely touted as "eating burritos." If you were a clean runner, would you want to be constantly called a drug cheat online and have all of your accomplishments questioned just because another team member was busted? Hopefully others will follow but with Worlds so soon I doubt any big names will leave prior to the fall.

It was also quite recently that Shalane almost directly said (now deleted) that she was still writing workouts for the banned doper. Gotta be upsetting for clean athletes.

Yes! that part was insane to me. Like they are just showing that they don't give a damn about the rules. Just so disappointing.

I kind of read it like this. For all we know she fully believes in the innocence of Shelby and all the BTC, but she couldn't handle the association and constant questions that would come along with it. Just a possibility.

I heard about this last week. Good for her . I can't think of an American women who spoke up about SH. Kara , Magness ,women's running , safe sport collective are still focussed on Africans .

Good riddance to GDS. I’ve never liked runners from other countries training in the USA with our teams, learning from our coaches, and benefitting from our facilities. We should not help our competition. Let them train in their own countries.

If they're clean AF it's still got to make the people on the team think. It's just not a great look at this point the way the higher ups have handled the Shelby situation.

They dropped the ball. Shouldn't have acted like nandrolone was a mystery drug. Should've kissed her ass and done whatever they want in private but given her a firm boot in public.

Myself, if I had to bet my left arm on if they were clean or not I'd bet that they were clean. That doesn't change my stance on how they've handled Shelby.
