This is a sad story, would like to be able to say.....she is only 22 she can turn this around.....but I just can't see that happening. What a waste, what a talent, and what a mess.
Everyone is writing her off because she has not run a race yet this year, Lots of people skip indoors, and some top stars in the past did not begin their season until May or June and it is Just Early April, She is still young, Lets see How she does in the World Trials, Way too soon to write her off for even this year.

What's fueling this is that she was scheduled and listed to run in Texas and also again at the Bermuda games and without explanation she was a no show. This is very easy to control. A simple press release explaining her legitimate reasons for not being able to attend. Using her social media to update her fans as to her plans would be a good use of the medium. But now she's gone super quiet. So, the unnecessary silence and absences have fueled the speculation.
pretty sure she's in trouble for roids, not any smoking substances
taking away some hemp from her isn't gonna slow her 100m down by 2.5 seconds.
hope she gets better though, i like people who are edgy
So she was on roids in college at LSU? Wow. Really? Were all LSU runners on roids then or just her? Has there been a coaching change that the current batch of LSU runners are not? Or perhaps the roids being provided no longer working with current batch of LSU runners.
I remember just last summer when all the smart track and field people were declaring how "Sha'Carri is good for the sport"! It was mind-blowing to me then and it's mind-blowing now that anyone would equate internet hits with good for the sport. I hope she gets it together but I saw no glimmer of the humility that would allow for that to happen.

Definitely too young and talented to write off, but I would not be surprised if this is the beginning of the end. I have read this script before, remanence of Dawn Sowell, Obea Moore, Xavier Carter, Torie Bowie and Michael Norman for example...so talented that greatness is assumed. A super talented athlete has a stumble and then another stumble and people keep waiting for them to get it together but sometimes they never do. The problem may start out with an injury or poor performance at a major competition or a personal problem, and they mentally can't get back on track. They become mentally damaged; they lose their mojo. It is like Austin Powers in Goldmember, once you lose your Mojo it is a difficult thing to get back.

What did happen to Torie Bowie. I know she had a quad injury and then switched to the long jump and then nothing.

Now that you mention it I wonder the same. She seemed like she had a bright future.

You mean the Tori Bowie who won the world 100 title in 2017, Olympic 4x100 gold, 100 silver and 200 bronze in 2016, world 100 bronze in 2015 and was fourth in the long jump at the 2019 worlds? THAT Tori Bowie? Yeah, she never got it together.
Maybe this year at age 31 she will pop back up and sweep the sprints at Eugene.

She can def turn it around. As much as I'm offended by what you saying "what a waste, what a talent, what a mess" I have to admit it does actually seem we'll be saying that 5 years from now.
I'm rooting for her, partially because she's just so young and it's hard to figure out life by the time you're 22, but also because I was a pro athlete and smoked on the reg and can honestly say I'd have never been a pro without it.
It's prob hard to understand for most how thc could be a performance enhancer, but I present to you...the NBA: where a not insignificant number of players are stoned EVERY game. It is absolutely a performance enhancer for some of us. Be it anxiety relief, greater kinesthetic awareness, whatever, it just really helps some of us even if it does nothing positive for others. Prob has something to do with brain chemistry, but I can't say for sure. All I know is it's a performance enhancer for some of us, but not at all in the same way epo or aas are, which I speak from experience...not the same at all.
Thc is more like a way of unblocking something whereas epo/aas/corticos/etc are legit peds. It's really bs that thc is banned in competition and I suspect someday it won't be. In that sense, I'd agree the current rules are wasting talent.

Yes, her. Where is she? She is young enough to still be sprinting near the top odlf her game.
