At 12 km, a 12 strong lead group, including Al Aarabi, the strong looking Moroccan. with legs which look more like the legs of a soccer player.

At 13 km, Wanders about 30 seconds behind the lead group and has dropped behind his pacesetter Bonny Kibiwott. He has that magnificent stride but I’m not sure if he’s feeling it now or just playing it safe?
15km: Yego and Amdouni, 44:35, Wanders 45:25. Bonny K. just in front.
Are you in Paris? They say it’s freezing cold despite clear blue skies and the Sun looking glorious.
I am guessing that it is Jake Robertson who is running Paris because Zane Robertson ran the LA marathon recently where he had to drop out. Jake also seems to have much longer hair.

Asubuhi: I am inland near Marseille, some 800 km south of Paris near the Mediterranean sea.
Watching live on French TV channel 3, free channel. The odd thing in France is that they choose to put a sprinter as the main commentator who happens to be Stephan Diagana, former world class 400 m hurdler.
At 20 km they (leaders) are on 2:05:00 pace. 1:01:15 at 20.5. Wanders on 2:07:00 pace at 20km.
Half marathon just passed in 1:02:40ish.
Wanders, 1:04:00 at halfway. Not sure if he’s being cautious or possibly feeling it a little bit. Hope it’s the former.
Amdouni, still looking superb at 24km - Watch out for that pocket sized Kenyan runner Hillary Kipchumba. Al Aarabi, also tucked in nicely and just following and conserving energy at 24 km.
In the women’s race, Jeptum has taken off 15 km from the finish line and established a very strong gap on the opposition. I heard her pace would take her to two hours 15 minutes but I’m not sure that that is accurate.
Jeptum (1:05/half recently), , is absolutely flying and looks set to destroy the women’s course record. Magnificent style, and composure.
Olympic Channel
Pacemaker just dropped out at 30 km in 1:29:40. Amdouni leading, but waving to the others to take over and help
Jeptum it’s going to destroy her previous personal best of two hours 22 minutes.
Eight strong lead group at 33 km.Amdouni there, Al Aarabi dropped.
Amdouni, predicted finishing time 2:05:52, at 34km
Benoit Zwiechelerski 2:06:36, is the French record and Amdouni looks set to destroy that. On target for about 2:05:30. Tura and Gelmisa have taken off. Chicago winner. Ethiopia impressive.
Tura leading looks like he’s out for a Sunday morning jog. Absolutely no sign of strain. Super impressive those two Ethiopians.
Amdouni, has failed to pick up the water on three successive attempts in the last 3 to 4 minutes. That is so bizarre!
