Is there really anyone saying moving off bamboo wasn't an advantage? I think you're trying to create a strawman. Pun intended.
Technology in fiberglass poles over the past 60 years has also improved. Technology in fiberglass poles has improved over the past ten years. Did you read my post? I stated technology in poles has improved more than technology in shoes. Do you have something to add to what I stated?
60 year? Of course.
10 years? No. Pole vaulting poles have remained basically unchanged from the 1990s. They have gotten slightly lighter in weight and slightly smaller in circumference.
Pole vaulting poles have not improved more than "super spikes" in the past 10 years.
How many people do the pole vault worldwide? 1,000? So he is the best of a 1000? Whoopedee doo!
I hate to feed the troll. But I doubt you could calmly get yourself to fall backwards from that height to those mats. I know I could not. Which makes it super impressive. And having watched the indoor Worlds in Portland, the pole vaulters looked to be coming quite close to the super high ceiling. 6.19 is high!
would the average person have an easier time estimating 20 feet than 6 meters? 6 meters is six good strides of a full grown man, almost exactly. Twenty feet is eyeballing and can be way off.
STOP PUSHING IMPERIAL. Only nursing home residents need help with 6.19.
