One of the greatest performances in track and field history. She beat the competition by 15 seconds on the last lap. Also she didn't give a profanity-filled tirade like I thought she might in the interview. Thought she would drop some f-bombs on the haters but was very polite
Thank you so much for posting this. I don't have ESPN, so I wasn't able to watch it.
It looks like they are working on her kick. That was a very nice last lap.
She is now 16 on the list for 5K. Doesn't that qualify her for nationals? She hung out for a while behind Hays and looked like she wanted to move sooner, plus swinging out wide to get around the huge pack cost her a little time. She just looks like a very different, more mature and controlled runner now.
She’s a late scratch for the 3k and the team race is close… anyone hear if she’s dealing with some small injury?
I think the team race is over with VT winning, hopefully preventative. Hays and Ryan (FL St) also sat. Fegans wins (901) over Chmiel and probably qualified, with Brynn Brown of UNC 3rd. Bush comes back for 6th in 9:13 after them earlier mile. Markezich of Notre Dame didn't look good - but didn't at ACC before finishing high at Nationals XC.
I think Tuohy qualified in the 5000. The Big 10 race was run in 16:09.
yea, I don't think either Hasz or Cailie Logue qualified which seems odd. Have to believe 1 or 2 of the high marks don't run, like Gregory if she runs DMR.
The Hasz sisters ran a hard 3000m race the day before and Magness already has a qualifying time, so no surprise it was not a fast race.
Nine out of the top 16 times are from the December BU meet and three are from the Husky Invite. In indoor there is an added factor where you have to be strategic in choosing the tracks to race on because some are very fast tracks.
So Tuohy qualified in the 3000 and the 5000. Not bad for an injury limited season.

Duke wins the 4x400 to earn a tie with VT for the team title.

Just saw that - Duke was expected to win 4x400, but VT did not do well in shot put or 4x400 for whatever reason and that is where they lost it. But NC St could not catch them - even it Tuohy ran and won 3000 that would get them to 82 (Duke and VT got 86).

Reinhart came up big for Duke - 3rd if 5,000, 4th in 3,000.
