In fairness it was the biggest doping story in US distance running in a while. It was a bombshell. Shelby was the All American kid. She represented everything that's great about American runnin. Scrappy and tough, ready to bring home a medal.

They are basically following the same pattern of behavior that led to her ban, i.e. believing the rules don’t apply to them.
