And some days ago you stated that Jakob would run 3:29 (and go home devastated). Then you realized it would be a clear INDOOR WR so you had to "adjust" your prediction.
The problem here is that people can remember this prediction opposite your other negative predictions for Jakob´s far future. If people care to respond to your trolling.
Imagine you were running 8 min/mile, i don't think the 0.5sec/lap adjustment would be correct because the centripetal forces are so much lower for such a slow speed. So for Fishers slightly slower 5k pace it might not be a full 0.5sec correction. That being said, 0.5sec/lap correction for 1500m seems rather high to me.
it's definitely not correct. at least not at the highest level. otherwise we are saying that in non super shoes, we are looking at a 1500/mile field that is slower than any field in something like 40 years.
You can check his Instagram, there are few videos of him training indoors with his brother Henrik. He seems to be happy with training and ready for the race.
Also, didn't Gjert step down as his coach just recently, about a week ago?
You are right Gjert possibly stepped down not long ago. It was published in the Norwegian media the 2nd of February.
AW's exclusive interview with Olympic 1500m champion, European 1500m and 5000m champion, three-time European Indoor champion and European Cross Country champ...

Glad you keep track of all things Oozma. I appreciate my loyal fans.
As you said, I had to adjust my prediction when I was informed that the race was indoors. That's what you do when you receive new information. You reexamine your view and sometimes change it. I was actually not sure what to say this time around. I want to say Yakob will go home devastated but its very likely he takes down this indoor record because it's soft as butter.
A guy with a PB of 3:31 outdoors was capable of running 3:31 indoors. The reason indoor performances tend to be slower is for lack of trying, but many misunderstand and perpetuate myths about indoor track. Anyone with a pb of 3:30 can break this wr, including Yakob. Yakob can show up in 3:30 shape and still claim this WR. For that reason, I dont think Yakob deserves the title of wr holder. Not unless he runs a 3:27 indoors.

Ok Edgelord. Is it coincidence that Geb and El G held the 1500i records and also many outdoor records? Just an accident that the indoor record has been held by some of the greatest runners ever, and they just chose to not run faster than 331?
You think the super spikes are worth more than unfettered doping of the 90s and 00s? I don't. Jakob ran an OR from the front to win Gold...that isn't impressive enough for you? Doesn't show his quality to own this record too?
Extremely speculative. No reason Jakob should follow any of his brothers. He does not have Filip's allergy problems. And he is not training the same way Henrik did when he was younger.
It is not slower if 6'+ Yomif Kejelcha can run 3:47.0 for the mile, which is as good as we could expect him to run anywhere. Jakob can run the same indoors as outdoors, but being in the same shape in February as in the biggest part of the season is the question. We've seen with Cole Hocker/Teare, they are not at full sharpness yet still are running 3:50/3:33 equivalents with imperfect pacing. Based on Jakob's social, he looks playfully confident and I expect 3:30 or 3:29 if the pacing is good.
The fastest indoor tracks are ca. 0.5s per 200m slower than the fastest outdoors tracks.
Nonsense. The record holder himself is more than a second slower outdoors than indoors.
Most elites are .5 seconds per 400 slower during winter than summer, and far fewer of them bother competing. Top indoor venues are faster over middle distance, not slower.
^ the point being that elites are not in shape during winter but running just as fast. It's the tracks. They're actually significantly better than outdoors now

Too far. They’re more predictable. You have perfect control over the weather and no wind. Yes BTC had a great day but Shelby and Schweizer ran faster on a HS track. Ahmed ran faster too. Hassan and Gidey doubled their times. Cheptegei and so on. Being just as fast with the spikes is enough for some great times.
I like to see good races and people running fast but I just can't get excited about indoor records. It's like short course swimming records, I just don't care. It's great to have the competition when it's really cold outside but I can't see of it as anything more than maintenance before the real competition starts in the summer.
The fastest indoor tracks are ca. 0.5s per 200m slower than the fastest outdoors tracks. Therefore dipping under 3:30 would be incredibly strong and would indicate WR ability outdoors. I say 3:31 and no WR for Jakob.
So Fisher would have ran like 12:41 outside ?
According to the WA tables, the equivalent outdoor performance for 12:53 indoors is 12:39. Some indoor tracks are obviously just as fast as outdoors, and I think Lieven is one of them - there were amazing times there lat year over 3k and 1500m.

I think Boston´s indoor track is faster than most if not all outdoors tracks.
Kejelcha has never run as fast in the mile outdoors as his indoor WR in Boston. And not near 3:30 in the 1500m as his mile WR equals.
We will see later this year if Fisher, Scott and more can run as fast outdoor in the 5000m as they did last saturday in Boston.
Why would you think it's faster than any new outdoor track? Because of tighter radius and its impact on legs in the curves it even theoretically can't be faster than an outdoor track, although the difference gets smaller at longer distances / slower speed.
While BU indoor track might be fast, it's surely not faster than tracks in Monaco, Tokyo, Doha and a few others.
