Yep. And they wouldn't be too far off.

Any non-white guys chiming in on this thread?! Would be good to get the take of an African American/Asian etc here.
I said the same thing, only comparing it to the third athlete featured in that commercial: “being a black speed skater is equivalent to having your leg amputated?” This whole attitude is as shallow as the phrase by which it is most commonly expressed: “I didn’t see anyone who looks like me.” Me me me me me. Very self-centered, and actually quite terrible to insist that “my competitors are white and Asian” is equal to a traumatic life-altering injury or a fight against a deadly disease.
I live in the Boise area. The other day I went into Target. There were ads across the store that featured 70% Black people. I would say the demographic of Boise is less than 3% Black. Even on the national level the Black population is only 12%. Then in every BLM riot of recent years Target stores were looted to the max. It’s weird.
You have to be suffering from CRT derangement syndrome to think that the point of the commercial was to say that the challenges of being a black speed skater was the equivalent to the challenges of returning to competition after beating cancer.
I know that a lot of the winter games athletes do not make much money and more power to them getting a deal to be on a big national TV commercial. But I am getting tired of advertising trading off of disabled athletes. There is a fine line between showing disabled athletes in advertisement in order to be inclusive and using them as a prop for marketing PR for your company. The summer games commercial about Jessica Long (disabled swimmer who was adopted) was really pushing it. I know these were supposed to be commercials about the Olympic Games and were not a commercial with a sales pitch for a Toyota Tundra. But it is really sus when Toyota's logo is on at the end of the commercial.

With all the white grievers in this one thread, not to mention dozens of other, would you expect any POCs to feel they could post here without being run out?

Woke Visa commercial tried to be “inclusive” by sharing the stories of people who have gone through adversity to get to the Olympics. One subject went through 12 rounds of Chemo, another is an amputee who started snowboarding with a prosthetic leg, and the other suffered through….being black.
The girl says “I’m African American and I’m surrounded by people who aren’t”. Is being black a disability now? In fact, is this woman a racist for objecting to the fact that others around her have different skin colors from her own? Why does Visa have to tell people that being black is a massive negative obstacle that one has to overcome? Stupid attempt at tying race into this commercial about people who have struggled to overcome massive physical obstacles to achieve the Olympic dream.

White man here. Went through 12 rounds of chemotherapy from 2020 to 2021, and it was painful. This does not offend me. I would be surprised if any of you complaining about this woman's statement have ever had cancer before, but maybe going through chemo would toughen some of you up. Get over it and stop responding to other people's grievances with your own.

Advertising used to be based on demographics. Not any more. 85% of all the brothers and sisters showcased in ads these days are buying nothing but the best cars, homes, clothing and jewelry. They eat out at the swankiest restaurants and are world travelers. This in addition to having their own TV shows, networks, magazines, schools, political organizations, endless government funded programs and more. Yep, that poor little female, of color athlete (translation VICTIM) is suffering through a pure living hell surrounded by competition that is not of her race.
Lol...and they all speak perfect English..no ebonics...
Imagine you’re a normal black personals basically the entire media/advertising world wants to portray you as a victim of white supremacy without your consent.
It has to be unbelievably frustrating to be labeled in such a way by woke white morons
im black, and its offensive

I can imagine.
White liberals (basically the worst people on the planet) are also extremely racist, deep down. More so than conservative whites. But they feel guilty about it, and try to atone for it in numerous ways. The results are not pretty, as seen in this commercial.
Sorry you have to deal with this BS my friend.
yup yup. Ima non caucasian woman of color, and i attest that being black is EXACTLY the same as losing your freaking leg. being black is WORSE than losing both your parents at a young age. being black is worse than the pain of cancer, losing your family, friends who turn their back on you 'because you can't keep up anymore'. you're "not normal" being black in america is the ULTIMATE SUFFERING. which is why all-black alliances in Big Brother are not only TOLERATED, but CELEBRATED by host Julie Chen. Being excluding people based on the color of skin, is the new normal in america. as long as you're black, its ok. but if you're white, your racist for doing the exact same thing

White grievance thread of the day.
The response when the poster can't refute anything in the thread and has no argument.
Odd then that it is usually conservatives defending racists on this site.
That’s pretty funny lol the liberals are literally saying blacks are inferior. So them succeeding in anything is a a huge shock. This is why black voters are slowly voting for Republicans. They are starting to see liberals tell them they are stupid and not good enough.
Can’t wait to hear what a bunch of bitter white men have to say about the experience of being black!

Telling black people they are victims with no hope for a better future is a foundational principle of the Democratic party. They've been at it for so long that Democrat politicians like Joe Biden openly say that if you don't agree you're a victim and buy into the nonsense than "you ain't black". If you think for yourself you're a "race traitor" or an "Uncle Tom".
Democrats are literally worse for African-Americans than slavery was.
I actually rewinded it to confirm what I saw and heard. Epic fail here.

Yea it's not the people who define their entire identity on something that happened to someone else over 150 years ago that are bitter it's everyone else... LOL!
