I wore a mask for 2 years even though I hated it and also didn't get sick. Two weeks ago I got my first cold in 2 years and it was easily the worst cold I've ever had, lingered and lingered, put me on my back like it was flu. No it was not covid. Purely theoretical but not giving my immune system any access to viruses for 2 years probably meant it wasn't very strong when one inevitably hit me.

It's funny how every time a new variant comes around New Zealand decides it's going to wait another six months to open its borders. They said they were going to learn to live with COVID in October, now, they are saying they will start letting in foreigners from other countries in July of 2022. I think Omicron may accelerate the process as it is starting to kick up there in a significant way. Considering even the vaccinated and boosted are getting COVID and they already have Omicron, it is only a matter of time before it runs through the populace.

You always have to look under the hood with a meta analysis. Good thread on how the authors did some cherry picking and manipulated there meta analysis to give greater weight to studies that were consistent with the result they wanted (study was done by economist who clearly intended to throw stones and public health measures that were bad for businesses).
