He has to get ready for their next home meet to run in the hyped up Meyo race.

He ran 7:46 two years ago so I would give him 7:45 this year.

Seems like a head case. Lost all respect for the guy for pulling out of the Olympics. Can't you at least show up and jog a lap if you are injured?? Jeeze...

We actually don’t know if he’s actually calling himself an Olympian or not. He shouldn’t be, because he isn’t.

His fan could be defending something Nguese doesn’t even agree with.

Yes, it was weak that he scratched from the Olympics. He should have run. That’s the place to risk everything, especially when representing the country.

His reputation took a massive hit by not running. He let down every single runner. And we have all raced with an injury. Every single runner has raced sick, with an injury, and with a less than ideal preparation. Yeah, it sucks, your confidence is shot. You’re way more nervous. You wish the situation was different. But we all have raced regardless.

That’s why he disappointed all us runners. He showed he’s weaker than us. He’s faster, but weaker. All of us can post a story about racing sick or injured. And it was for certainly lesser stakes than representing our country at the Olympics.

WeJo/Gault - set up a call with Nuguse to hear his thoughts on this Olympic injury/Olympian issue. Would love to hear from horse's mouth!!

This is the Millrose Games, not a quad meet.

Yes, it's very cute to say that Carlson is playing the 4D chess long game when Notre Dame hosts Joe Piane XC invitational and fields a team of walkons. But there are dozens of better coaches than Carlson at this meet and dozens of better athletes than Nuguse.

They aren't any smarter than current and future olympic medalists.

Love all the old dudes saying they walked to school in the snow 4 miles, uphill, both ways. Yeah, I'm also an old dude once upon a time Domer XC captain. I tapped out at 14:15 for 5k in college, so never as good as Nuguse. I probably know more about him than most posters here, though not all. We are not Marvel Superheroes, we are people. Although I'm sure someone is going to post on here that they are IronMan. Don't you have something better to do than troll people? Nuguse never thought of the Olympics growing up. He... wanted to become a dentist. And spread the word about the violence in Tigray in Ethiopia. He is an honor roll student in biochem and is now taking some grad biz courses to prepare for pro running or whatever he does after graduation. He is not a trained seal who performs for your enjoyment. Maybe he has a test to prepare for this week. Maybe he has some problems going on with family or friends. Maybe he has a slight injury. Who knows? Oh, yes, a lot of the posters on LetsRun know more about his life than he does.

I mentioned my time because at 14:15 for 5k, no one cared if I ran or not. If you are the NCAA 1500 meter record holder, people care. I don't understand why you are lmao about "maybe he has a test." I frequently missed practices because of labs or tests in college, and missed one or two track meets. I guess your college experience was different.

The issue is him missing the Olympics not Milrose.

If he competed at the Olympics no one would say anything about him missing Milrose.

He to accept based on his non appearance at his Olympic race he’s under more scrutiny for withdrawing from races.
