So true. Of course, he is referring to other people, not me. I am a very moral person. Perhaps the most moral person on these boards. I am extremely humble, too.

Kip's really into stats. He should probably stick to running.
Kipchoge... that’s the guy who doesn’t actually live with his wife and kids because they mess up his training, right?
Definitely the kind of parent I will take advice from.
Yeah, sure. 1 in 20 parents do a decent job...he sounds like an old person hearkening back to an imagined glorious past (shades of "Make America Great Again"), when kids were morally and ethically outstanding humans, who called adults "ma'am" and "sir", said blessings at mealtime, and so forth. Whatever.
I don't deny that things are bad - it's just that they've always been bad. When Kipchoge says "there is no order these days", he implies that there used to be order. Nope. Maybe that's how he remembers it - just like the typical parent remembers their childhood as hours and hours of hard work, healthy play, and general industriousness, when in fact they just sat around watching TV all day.

It's the Kenyan version .

Too funny. He doesn't even see his family and he's telling others what he thinks of their parenting style. That's like a couch potato giving me advice on my race pacing.

Truly fascinating.
I do enjoy your delusions Steve.
Kipchoge better watch his mouth before the gold old U.S. of A decides to do a little regime change in Kenya!
You can quibble over whether the 95% number is exaggerated or not, but Kipchoge has a point, doesn't he? There's a lot of messed up parents raising a lot of messed up kids. Some are so neglectful, you could say they don't even really raise their kids much as all. Call it "morality" or use whatever term you prefer. But I don't think you can argue that our societies have a hell of a lot of problems that could have been preventing by better upbringings. I'm with Kipchoge on this one.

Feels closer to 80-90%
The guy lives in a camp with a bunch of dudes and they just run all day. He doesn't know jack about parenting.
Reality is, kids have access to a lot more than we did and they are just as curious. I can only turn off the wifi or take the car keys so many times. They need to make their own mistakes. Sometimes good parenting is letting them know we are the net that will never let them hit the ground.

+1
How dare a sports star say kids myst not be raised right if they (checks notes) grow up to commit violence against women? Is that the complaint here, OP?

That’s all good and dandy, but “cancel culture” was created by the GOP who can’t handle any views but their own. Remember Trump in his first week in office talking about “opening up the libel laws” because journalists investigated his long history of criminal behavior? How about the GOP governors firing state career officials for telling the truth about voting or the election. The list goes on and on.
Don’t lecture me about cancel culture.
Judgments of other people’s “morality” have always seemed silly to me. Unless a person is harming someone or *objectively* making society worse, who cares what they value? This generational rite of passage to talk about how misguided the next generation is just confuses me. GenZ and millennials haven’t dropped a-bombs, collapsed housing markets, started wars, segregated people, etc.
Kipchoge’s a great runner and probably a cool guy. I think I’ll go ahead and admire him as an athlete but not take his advice on parenting.

Moral of the story; if you sleep with your doggy, keep it well groomed.
