What does it feel like when you turn into one of those guys who sits around seething about the injustice of being called out for talking about female runners' weight? Of course, I admit that it is incredibly important that you be allowed to call 115-lb women "fat" without any pushback, and that any assault on this essential, God-given right is a sign of society's downward spiral, and of how the citizenry is falling ever further from their idealized state. You are doing those fatties a favor, after all.

The shock and hurt I saw in my daughter's face and voice when she asked about what Mary Cain's weight actually was spoke volumes. When a coach is destroying an athlete by forcing her into an unhealthy weight for her, and shaming her publicly about it, there can be no justification for that.

Interesting that this thread is allowed but insert any female athlete in place of Josh Kerr and it gets taken down at minimum, someone banned likely.

This is a ridiculous thread. Yes, he is bulkier than most of the runners he is competing against but he is nowhere near fat, even in the off season. He is bigger than other milers but that’s just the way he is, and it clearly doesn’t hold him back as he still manages to decimate American 1500m fields whenever he pleases

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure he ran a lot faster than that. 3:52 speaks to a certain level of fitness. He definitely wasn't out of shape.
