Damn, that's crazy. I've heard it both ways. I've seen centrists that lean left being chastised for going "it doesnt matter who i vote for, theyre both the same" and I've also seen members of the far left get excoriated for not voting "out of principle".
Either way it's funny. And I'm sure theres also people in the far right that go "Im not voting for that neocon hes a puppet for THE JEEEEEEEEEEEEWS"

That was really incredible how they pulled that off. Unfortunately your average social media-addicted people will not put two and two together. It has to do with social proof. If 1,000,000s of people upvote a video or a post, people will sunconsciously think and feel that the content in the video/post is correct.
The majority opinion is not always right.
Maybe the owners of youtube and reddit know that the majority of content on their platforms is leftwing and they dont want any accountability, no differing opinions from republicans so they remove their ability to downvote, i.e. expose the truth.
They'll try to censor republicans from posting any content at all and then they will have their utopia.

Indeed, the downvote elimination is a new breed of censorship, the type which carries a frightening message. What this change really means is that a very young audience has now had the choice to disagree taken away from them on a large platform. This conditions people to not question media in any form, you don’t disagree with things others say, you either agree or you don’t watch/listen at all. The purpose this serves is the continued corralling of the masses into their respective echo chambers, unable to interact with the other side of whatever argument they are in without devolving into name calling and the regurgitation of facts that they don’t actually understand. It is important that regular people remain in this state of constant squabbling so the ones in charge of the world can focus on their goals and undying need to expand their power and wealth.

reddit just took another step into its own grave with the new blocking features.
1) If you block someone, then everything you post or comment will appear as deleted to them. No posts will appear in their feeds, although they can find your post titles in subreddits with the content appearing as deleted. This means that users you have blocked can't interact with you as they can't comment or reply on anything you post.
2) If you block someone, their content will appear as hidden (collapsed) but you can opt to see it anyway (expand).
Great features for anyone trying to create an echo-chamber. You're a prolific poster and everyone who disagrees with you lose the opportunity to debunk your lies at the click of a button. Now the world has two types of people: those who agree with you and those who can't speak.

Maybe I'm using reddit right or differently than you. I've only be using it more in the past year as some forums disappear and the subjects migrate there. I don't see any politics. I just choose topics that I'm interested or learning about like cars, nba, cross country skiing, bikes, prepaid phone services/rural internet options, and the subjects are just that. Of course, if you want to dive into the politics talk there, you are welcome to, but why not just stick to your interests unless it's politics you are looking for? I haven't looked for politics in reddit, and don't intend to look.
