Tony Young!!

Hmmmm. Thanks, Skye, but I'm not sure if I rank any more as best 70-plus runner in Indiana, if I ever did. At various times in my career, I probably was the best 40-plus, 50-plus and 60-plus runner--nationally and maybe even worldwide in a couple of events--but I haven't been that serious about my racing since turning 70, even though I did 7 marathons in 7 months to celebrate my 70th birthday. So I'll duck that honor and hope that someone can nominate another Golden Oldie, who is currently more active competitively than I am now.
Michigan:
Mike Scannell and Nancy Grayson

Mike would be quick to nominate Paul A and Monica Joyce is easily MI's best masters woman. Nancy hasn't, by choice, competed at the top level in several years.

what about Paul Oftenberg not sure on thr spelling.
He is the best in Michigan. US 10K Masters Record Holder!
Right now #2 in the US in terms of Masters Distance Runner behind the Keynan who just got citizenship in time for being over 40.
Never mattered to me.
It's not Aufdem that Paul sees his name spelled that poorly.
My wife Sarah Stiner, 40-44, NY state. She also just turned 45 in Aug 31, 2005 so she has entered another age group, but has not run a race so far as a 45yo. Here isa summary of her 12 best races last year.

That guy is Doug Bell. Though he's over 44, I'd guess that Sam Ngatia is better than Ames over about any conventional course and distance, ditto Jon Sinclair. Plaatjes is no longer a serious competitor. For women, it's hard to top Colleen de Reuck.

-Not sure how old Mark Plaatjes is?
-There is also a guy, I don't know his name, who is in his late 50s early 60s who can run under 35 for a 10k. I can't for the life of me remember his name.
-Matt Carpenter pretty much wins whatever long distance he wants to.
The list in this state can go on and on.
-Dennis Leck still owns property in the state
-I'm sure there is a ton of guys in the southwest corner that can kick ass too.
So far this is what we got so far!
Call it the Lets.run honor roll for Master runners!

You get old because because you stop running!
In Georgia, John Tuttle can beat this Putnam character. Tuttle ran a 15:09 this year in a road 5k, plus he can drink more beer than most people regardless of age.
Sean Wade (NZL) is not a Master. He is 39. Let's not take away from those who have earned the birthright to be called a Master.
Yes
I totally agree...... Rich Hanna!
Farty Mc-Old-ass
oh,
and Tony Young.
In Texas, this all depends on distance covered:
Marathon
William Moore, 43 (2:33:45)
Joe Flores, 45 (2:35:03)
Half Marathon
Paul Zimmerman, 42 (1:08:18)
William Moore, 43 (1:10:48)
10K
Keith Dowland, 50 (34:33)
5K
William Moore, 43 (15:59- twice)
Keith Dowland, 50 (16:28)
Cut n paste if you can't spell, as$hole!
Georgia
Eric is a great runner and a nice guy, but he's not in the same class as John Tuttle, also 47. Tuttle can still go sub-32:00 for 10K and ran a 15:08 5K a few months ago. And this is after a heart problem within the last two years.
