Amy Schneider becomes top female contestant ever on Jeopardy!

I saw some posts reported in this thread.

Can someone correct me if I’m wrong but it is factually incorrect to use the term female right? That is what the title of the thread says and the article linked to .

She is a transgender woman. I just think I am fine with someone using the term woman to denote gender but not female . Female denotes sex. She is 100% male right? Or do some want to argue female / male is no longer about sex.

Help me out.

I know some TERFs object to the word woman being used .

But male/female is about sex right?

Host Ken Jennings refers to Amy using female terms like she, her, woman, etc. I believe Amy has gone through transformation surgery as well. I think the propped way is to address her as female.

As weird as that sounds, Amy has a girlfriend. As in female partner.

So to summarize: Born a man, always felt like a woman….. who is sexually attracted to women. Gets sex change surgery….. and is a genius!

Heck if a lot of activity going on inside her brain so far….. lol.

She seems like a nice person so good for her. Great Jeopardy champ :)

It’s an open contest. Gender has nothing to do with it unless this entire thread is just an attempt at trolling.

Could someone here who is more knowledgeable comment regarding whether men have historically been more successful at Jeopardy? Most (all?) of the prominent champions I can think of are male, but I don't follow the show closely.

I remember hearing that men were advantaged by a faster reaction time on the buzzer, but that could be made up for all I know.

Not that it matters in this case...just curious.

Deer editors, you don't even know how to be woke, are not even sure what applies to the individual in question, but you delete anyway?

The individual was born male, we apparently don't know what to say about them now, we need the individual's personal encyclopedia entry of post transgenderism, genital status, partner preference, to talk about it all and still get it wrong. They are now, with relatively few participants like them, the dominant scorer of all time in the category formerly referred to as female, women, etc. It's not o.k. to wonder how the heck that works and if there will be a trend here.

I don’t care how anyone wants to be identified, but there are dozens of articles about her being the first female to break $1M in winnings. It was the top story on the Today show this morning. She has a 5 ‘o clock shadow.

If we are supposed to be blind to labels, why focus on her being the most successful female? Say she’s the 4th on the list of all time Jeopardy contestants.
