News flash: seat belts now required in cars, smoking not allowed in indoor public spaces, and limits placed on car speeds. Reportedly this is to protect the public, particularly the vulnerable and people with no control of their situation like children, from danger. Unbelievable. What will the government come up with next? Pretty soon they are going to make us pay for things like road improvements, police patrols and air traffic control to protect us from "danger."

I know some people took this to mean that we will be wearing masks on airplanes for the rest of our lives but if you watched the whole program or read the transcript, you will see that Dr. Fauci said we will eventually get back to normal. He said, “You know, we’re in a war, Jon. It’s kind of like we’re halfway through World War II, and you decide, well, I think I’ve had enough of this. I’m walking away. You can’t do that. You’ve got to finish it — and we’re going to finish this and get back to normal.”

How dare anyone criticize the government!
As for weeks to flatten the curve, we did just that, and that is why the enormous early spike in COVID deaths in April-May 2020 ended by the end of May 2020. It was governors like De Santis that re-opened too early, leading to an even large spike in COVID cases in July 2020. But the predictions have been largely accurate on the side of science. Your side has been wrong over and over again on just about everything.

You used to be able to smoke on airplanes and restaurants. Remember the hostess asking if we wanted to sit in smoking or non smoking when going out to eat.
