This is why Dems are never able to accomplish anything and always get owned by a bunch of right wing nutjob Republicans. Instead of standing up for public health and giving a full throated defense of very minimal measures like wearing masks, Polis pusses out and gives in to a bunch of internet trolls by adopting the right wing "personal responsibility" approach to managing a pandemic. This is the kind of governing by political consultants that has ruined the Dems since the days of Clinton. As soon as poll numbers tick in one direction, the Dems fold like a cheap suit on their principles.
This is how you know the Dems are on the right path: when leftwing extremists are upset.
Indeed. This is clearly a measured move that Polis is running for POTUS, but with looney tunes like PR, he may not get out of the gate.
Fwiw, Polis did implement some draconian measures early in the pandemic, shuttering schools, forcing remote work situations, and the masks, at least in Denver, weren’t gone for very long. Also, if you look at the CO Dept of Health website, the jab rate is pretty high.
CO has a generally healthy population, and all Polis is doing is acknowledging that the end is in sight, which it is. If you are elderly or overweight w significant comorbidities, and you haven’t been jabbed, then that’s on you. That’s all he’s really saying.
