Well said "dead wrong." 1st the original post had nothing to do with the horrible scandal, which incidently was conducted by people doing exactly what the Church teaches NOT to do. Bad mistakes were made. It happened, we try as best we can to fix it and move on trying to avoid it in the future. The Church works thru people and people are sinners. As a result, as unfortunate as that is, things will happen that should not. It is simply the reality of life. It happens in all professions.
For some here to imply the Church has no ability to offer thoughts on morality is at best absurd and at worst bigoted. If the rule you wish to apply is no one can make judgment if they have made a mistake, then you should not judge anyone either, including your offering judgment against the Church.
2nd, as far as boxing being moral or not, I do not know. It is a sport that traditionally has been shockingly corrupt. Further, there is something about a sport whose primary goal is to cause harm to another person, as opposed to football where the injuries are not the specific intent of the players but rather incidental to the primary activity.
