Look at the way Brazier and Hocker run and if you can't see the difference, then I don't know how to help you. One is speed based, the other one is a strength runner.

Cadence doesn't win races, speed wins races. He kicks in 25 high, while he would have to run 23 mid from a cold start to beat Mu. Funny thing, he just doesn't have THAT kind of speed. He might be able to run 10 x 25 in a single workout, yet run 24 as a single all out effort and that wouldn't be something surprising.
Watch Michael Johnson and tell me if he looks like Hocker or Brazier running.

Speed= stride length +cadence. Hocker also has a nice looking stride.

Braziers stride looks more like Jeremy Wariners stride. Also Brazier is a 46 / 1:42 guy. How the hell can you compare Cole Hocker to that, it's like 2 levels in between them.
Hocker's form is similar to Johnson.
Well duh. But when you have a phenomenal cadence but run 25s 200m, maybe your stride length is not enough. Hockers center of gravity is pretty low when he runs, he kinda "sits", which causes him to kick his butt when running 25s. That is a first indicator, that his top speed can't be much better than that.

Let’s say hypothetically now that he’s 1:46.6 he should be able to run 48.76
Take the 400 to 200 conversion (400 - 4) / 2 and it comes out to 22.38, maybe he’s a little slower but still I could see sub 24 from him
This is all guesswork based off formulas and stuff, the only way to really decide this is after ncaa outdoors have the two race a 200
That's a sound and logical post. Nonetheless I'm leaning more towards 49 low, as most likely his strength improved more than his speed, as he is focusing more on the mile and up. Sub 24 MAYBE possible from a cold start, which would be make a tough race against Mu. I suppose Mu could also run 49 high outdoors at the moment. This is not to put Hocker down, but to emphasize Athing Mus talent and potential, especially in the 800m.

Moo can't beat any of the top 10 800 females in the 200, even the Brit Hodgkinson, so why even ponder about her beating a speedy dude? Surely even Walmsley would trounce her while wearing a 30 pound backpack.
Perfect! They timed him with 50.3 in that video. Kyle Merber is a 1:47.23 / 3:34.54 guy, which is close to Hocker. Therefore I think Hocker can run 49 low at best and that's that. Now 23.63 in 200m is a different beast alltogether, that's two 11.8 back to back. I doubt Hocker can do that.

Weird. Why would anyone care about running a 200? How about a 15 yarder? How about a 10 foot race in potato bags? Good to know Hocker can run a 1:46, and can probably bring that down to 1:45. In the king of races, he's likely going 3:31 or below this year. I think he'll do very well in a 3000 as well.

200m is a distance where you can measure your pure speed. Also it's a fun concept to have a girl race a guy and have a tight competition.
Also, Cole Hocker is yet to run 3:33, before he can take a jab at 3:31. He ran 3k in 7:46. Not too good comparing to Jakobs 7:27, therefore it would be more interesting to see him race Athing Mu in 200m or 400m.
In all fairness his 3:50 concerts to 3:33, but technically he hasn’t ran it yet
