I hover around 10-12% body fat and under fortunately have genetics more intended for wrestling/combat sports in terms of build. Tried to get lighter for years and was always injured. Decided to lift weights and lean into it, got faster because I wasn't hurt 24/7/365.
I look somewhat out of place in races.

Very impressed with your times! Were you a D1 runner and at which school please? Actually with your mile speed, 412, you should have been in close to eight minutes and 14 minutes for the three and 5K...

Smithers, B.C.? Actually with your 400 and 800 speed you should be closer to four minutes flat for the 1500 m and with more training you should be close to 15 minutes flat for the 5000. If you need a training program please contact me privately.

Pardon me for saying so but your weight is much too high for a guy of your height. Your optimum weight for racing 10K should be around 110 to 120 pounds maximum. Your 5K time is very impressive and would be equal to around 3140 to 32 minutes for 10 K. Similarly if you were doing good mileage around 60 miles per week you should be able to run a half marathon in around 110 to 112.

Perks of being a big boi:
- sprint fast
- no one ever tries to nudge you
- not an incel
- badass race pictures
- worshiped like a god in the weight room despite having mediocre lift PRs
Cons of being a big boi:
- wears through shoes faster
- joints hurt after 10 miles regardless of pace, shoes, or form
- XC is an L
- always smack tree branches on runs
- constantly compared to Nick Bare despite not even being close to Nick Bares build.

I used to obsess over cutting weight to get faster. Finally I accepted that my "larger" frame (compared to who I race) is a strength that helps me be resilient to injury and complete all the training. Work with your body type - its more important that you are lean (low body fat%) rather than light.
I also ran DIII :)
