The Carlsbad 5000 t shirt used to be sharp
I ran that race once and I don't think I even got a t-shirt. No medal, either!

Since I have so many 5K shirts in my closet I was wondering if somehow us runners could make this some type of new trend in society. I have some crazy orange and lime green shirts that I am confident would be the talk of the dance club. I really don't think this idea is too far out there and possibly could happen one day.
Is it possible?
Sorry it took so long to get back to you on this topic but,-----NO!

Absolutely, as long as you wear the bling you won with the tee (medal, cup, trophy, etc.).
I’m shocked at the responses so far. I am a long distance runner, not a hobby jogger. All the shirts go in a pile until the pile is almost empty. Laundry days are very, very rare. Who cares what they look like!
Problem is the dozen or so sponsors that make it look tacky. Take away all of those sponsors and some of these shirts are wearable and well designed.

Some of the vintage-look t-shirts you see at places like Old Navy are actually copies of old race t-shirts from the 80s. I think these are pretty cool, but most modern day race t-shirts are pretty poorly designed.
That's really annoying to me actually. I see all these kids walking around with a "race" shirt from Old Navy or a State Champ Track and Field shirt from Abercrombie. Those same kids wouldn't run a half-marathon if you payed them, they've probably never won anything in track and field, and they couldn't name a single current top-ranked distance runner. It's just a clever way for kids these days to look like they are actually athletic.
Running had gatekeepers in 2005! Wasn't just the scene kids I guess.
I wear the Nike Alphaflys to the nightclubs with jeans
That’s actually a fun and bold idea! Turning 5K race shirts into a fashion trend could totally catch on, especially with their vibrant colors and unique designs. Imagine pairing those electric orange or lime green tops with edgy streetwear or styling them into sporty-chic dance club outfits — you'd definitely stand out on the floor. It’s all about confidence and creativity, and fashion is always evolving through such statements. If you're into experimenting with bold colors and standout looks, you might want to check out some unique fashion pieces from / — their stylish and eye-catching designs could blend perfectly with the sporty flair of your race shirts.
