How would you spend unlimited money?

With unlimited money, you can travel any place you want any time you want. You can fly on a private jet, stay in the best room of the best hotel, and eat the best meal at the best restaurant. You can get prime seats at any performing arts or sporting events. You can get private tours to many places, even some that are closed to the general public.

I don't know how much more fun that is compared to your current travels. But it will certainly be different.

They'll put sanctions on anyone who does business with you. They'll appoint special police to stand by and seize your unlimited money every time a stash of it appears, and prevent you from ever spending it.

In fact whatever government issues the form of currency you get an unlimited amount of will probably crack down on you immediately to protect its economy. Accuse you of counterfeiting too. To be on the safe side they'll execute you or fake your suicide or accident.

Moral of the story is don't take advice from a random poster on LRC, it could get you into big trouble

I would build a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor track and field training center, staff it with the best coaches, human performance experts, nutritionists, and medical professionals, and then only allow disenfranchised and disadvantaged minority athletes to use it.

It’s funny that people can’t even work through a fantasy scenario without introducing ideas to bring it down.

Probably couldn’t fantasize about a beautiful woman without her suddenly growing a beard and balls in your mind.

This one was to get you to think about what to do with a lot of money if you couldn’t save or invest it.

And you couldn’t do it.

I would travel the world and go wherever I want as the weather and seasons allow. I would hire a personal assistant or three to take care of things for me during my travels like booking flights and accommodations, and running errands like getting food and groceries. I would probably hike, bike, or run somewhere everyday.

I wouldn't feel any need to have anything extravagant (parties, cars, fancy things, etc.) but having the freedom to not need to be obligated to go to a job everyday and not needing to worry about the cost of things as I go about my adventures would be quite nice. Obviously I would bring my wife with me for every adventure that she wants to join, and I would bring family and friends as they want.

I would definitely spend some time learning new things or improving at things that I haven't made time for yet: surfing, skiing, a musical instrument.

Being able to hike and climb in the mountains and decide, "Hey, next week I'd like to go relax on a tropical beach, and then come back to the mountains to ski during winter," without worrying about cost or career obligations would be wonderful.

This would be a pretty small group of athletes. Aren't felons the only people who are currently disenfranchised? Don't know if you're aware of this, but the right to vote has been extended to all sexes and races at this point, so not many people are disenfranchised in this country.

I have a few more ideas.

Go to auction houses (or send someone there) and buy all the art works I want (I can outbid anyone since I have unlimited money) and create my private gallery. Hire a curator for the gallery, and let people enjoy my art collection.

Sponsor struggling artists, actors, musicians, dancers or whoever else in the creative field. Hold annual competitions for each category and decide which people I sponsor.

Purchase franchises in WNBA and NWSL and outspend all my competitions to build dynasties. Or maybe create professional leagues for sports that currently do not have any in the US. (Women's indoor volleyball, for example.)

Actually, I can do all of them plus travelling half of the year if my money is unlimited.

You know, I was about to give you a lengthy explanation of how we have held off of traveling like we used to, but that's boring. Suffice it to say we put it off and then the Rona....

We are primed to go now as soon as the vaccine kicks in and it is safe to do so.

We don't go for luxury, like others here have pointed out. That doesn't feel right to me with my background. I'm lucky just to travel, and i would do it on a budget.

Also, we want to see a place as the locals see it, not sheltered away in an exclusive resort on the bluff overlooking the town.

These couple of posts reminded me of what i heard years ago from a psychologist or psychiatrist. He/she said that the mark of a creative person is this: offer them a million dollars and ask them what they would do with it. The creative person is the one who would need vastly more to fulfill all his ideas.

You guys in particular might fit that bill. For sure.

I would hire a farmer and a chef so I could eat well whenever I wanted without any work on my part.

I would also buy a lot of weed.
