Dude, go for it. I never had half the talent you had and never ran in HS or college, but I enjoyed running in my 30s and 40s. I hit important goals that I had to work hard for that would be mediocre by most everyone on these boards. I wish I could run at my peak again, but that season is gone.
You've got plenty of time to run an OTQ. Many of the elites hit their PR's in their 30s. You've got 8 full years til you're 35. That's a LOT of time to gradually shave time off your PR and make it.
You will have occasional burnout. That's natural. Hard to be stoked to train hard 365 days a year. Or even 52 weeks a year.
If I was your age and talent and had the time, I'd train my @$$ off to get an OTQ. That would be epic.
