I can't believe you guys left Alan Webb off the list. I bet he has some mad hops.

Which leads one to the only Webb v. Ritz question that hasn't been asked: Webb v. Ritz in hoops?
I pick Webb, because the first time Ritz bounces the ball off his foot....he's down with another injury.
I'm 5'9 ran 49/1:54 played football and basketball in highschool. Yet when I switched to 8k 25:30 and 10k 32:04 in college I can't dunk more than a volleball. I guess the tendency towards slow twitch muscle fibres makes it hard to get explosiveness of the sprints..
I am 6-1,I run mid 16's now for the 5k and I could dunk in h.s,after being more of a 400/800 guy, but after years of distance running, I am lucky to grab the rim.
Alan Webb is very explosive for a distance guy, but he's what, like 5'2?
Maybe he's the white Spud Webb?
Okay, I'm wondering about a lot of these dunking claims. I am a shade under 5-11 and I was a high jumper before switching to distance running and I COULD dunk a volleyball or something smaller. But it takes not just good vertical leap but also some large-sized mitts to dunk. I could not palm a basketball, so I couldn't dunk one-handed, and I won't claim to have been able to dunk two-handed. I'm not so sure the average 5-11 skinny boy has huge hands.
I'd also like to know what the source of Allen Iverson's alleged 4:19 mile is.

Oh, no. Not again...
Mottram could definitely dunk. His brother plays in the professional league here in Australia (the NBL) so I'm guessing he's got some ability.
Am I the only person who laughed when someone mentioned that 800 guys could probably do it...like Kipketer.
That guys was what, like 4'8"
