The 10k WR represents the PEAK in HUMAN PERFORMANCE. 26:11, this could in fact be the most incredible WR. This is the stepping stone to SUB 26! Whether it’s Joshua or someone else, someone is thinking about breaking 26... it’s a fraction of a second away.

For our US runners they saw how relaxed a 13:05 can look. Hopefully it can change their perspective on how difficult something like that can be.

Can someone post the all time US list?

He might take a few seconds off, since the weather was a little too warm. But eleven seconds is a lot, I don’t see that happen the next 10 years.

Dude. 9 Americans have broken 13. Cheptegei's 5k split - and I'm assuming your using his last 5k of about 13:03 - would place him outside of the top 10 list of Americans. In fact, the 13:03 would place him as the 15th fastest American ever since 14th stands as Hassan Mead at 13:02.80.

I doubt I could even run 200m at 63s pace.

I say 20 guys can. 20 won't do it but that was not the question. In perfect conditions in the best paced race, 20 are capable.

Something like that. I didn't actually look up the IAAF values for these, but that would probably be the easiest way to figure them out. The last two I don't think will ever happen.
