Sara MF Hall

With so many turns, I'm wondering just how much time was lost on missing the tangents. Molly Seidel's strava had her at 27.47 miles, and the map doesn't look like her GPS was *too* terribly out of whack. Certainly not really a mile worth of extra running, but I could see it costing some a couple minutes.

Has anyone improved or performed well under him? He seems like an extremely mediocre coach who has done nothing to justify his visibility other than 4:01 in HS and orbiting Alberto during the scandal situation.

Almost all of those are from his time at NOP. For all the whining he has done about NOP cheating, he is clearly more than happy to still use those athlete's success to boost his resume. Shameful.

She may have been jogging but she sure didn't just hand it over to her.

She was only jogging because she got sucked into running a pace early on that she could not hold.

a quick search found that in 2019, the winners of the men's and women's elite races were awarded $55,000, while second place received $30,000. Third place got $22,500

So, it was no gift.

From 40k to the finish took Chepngetich 8:07. That's like 4 min per k. That's like 20 min 5k pace. And the 2nd 1k was likely much slower than the first, she was probably 7 min pace.

It was cool to see Hall place 2nd but this was not a sprint finish and was not dramatic. Ruth was basically walking and didn't even try to kick when hall went by.

It's the equivalent of saying Emily Infield's finish gave you chills when Huddle celebrated too early and Infield snuck by. No, someone just screwed up or didn't care.

Uhh no, someone held it together at the finish and finished strong and someone was dead.

It was dramatic to me.

Sarah did unbelievably well. Gutsy finish. Nothing but respect for how hard she works.

Yes it does. What are you smoking? The turns added a few meters to the total marathon distance at most.

You clearly have no idea how running works.

Not to take away from Sara's great effort (and time), but do realize that many 2:20-22 ladies (mostly brown) were not allowed in the race.

The field was hand picked (by what standards, we don't know).

Sara was fortunate that she was picked and fortunate the ten better ladies were not in the race.

Not to take anything away from Sara cause she just ran the best US women's marathon since NY 2017 imho. There's always lots of fast runners that don't toe the line for lots of different reasons even at the olympics. Super prep, super coaching, super strategy, and super race for Sara.

Think he is reading this thread? The only way to find out for sure is to check back and see if he fixes the painful misspelling of "births." Not knowing it is spelled "berths" makes him look like an idiot.

I wonder if Ryan can keep up wife in training. Btw, Sara is a good example of sticking with it; logic says if you keep rolling the dice you will eventfully hit 7

This was not a midsole swap. The shoe is an Asics shoe.
