He doesn't own that picture. And he certainly can't claim defamation. What damage can he claim?

I'm more confused by Flotrack consistently putting out Youtube videos of past races but with zero identifying data- no date of when it occurred, no results, etc.
So now you have all these rubes commenting on it thinking it happened that day.

If he wants to be taken seriously by Flotrack, he needs to hire a lawyer and bring this court. Their reputation is already tarnished enough, they won't care what one guy tweets at them and won't take action.
They have operated under "even bad publicity is still publicity" for a looong time. Terrible business model.
They flipped the article to free. Action taken, no lawyer required. Flotrack isn’t as bad as everybody makes them out to be.
No they didn’t. Still pay required.
Good for them. Don't bend to one complainer.

It's just griping about a business charging a price they perceive to be too high. That's fine, but frickin move on. I don't go to luxury car dealers and scream all day. I just let people pay more than I think they should.
Anybody ever had a newspaper subscription? Or track and field news? Or runnersworld? Or people magazine?
Journalism costs money that gets passed along to the consumer through subscriptions, even if the journalism is horrible.
Imagine, if you will, a political leader of a major country saying to a news agency “hey you can’t use my picture!” Maybe we aren’t that far away from that happening actually.
That is a good take. Michael Jordan's picture was in my paper today. He should whine that my paper should be free if his picture is in it I guess. I don't even understand Murphy's complaint.
He made an explanation on Twitter today. Explained that it was about how they had an opportunity to help and grow the sport but instead but a copy and pasted article behind a paywall
I for one have no problem paying for quality content.
T&FN yea sure I have a subscription and gladly pay for it - they still put out a quality product
NBC Gold pass for track - yes I have a subscription I feel they put out a quality product
Flotrack - no I do not have a subscription because I feel their product is not worth it. They are free to charge what they want and if people buy their product and are willing to put up with subpar quality good for them.
How do some of you know that you don't enjoy their content if you don't subscribe?
It was free from 2007-2011/2012 or so.
Do you know how silly that is? They have changed staff several times since then. That is like saying you don't like the President of the US even though you have been in a coma since 2011 and you just woke up today.

It's pretty easy to look at the title of the articles or the videos and decide if it's worth spending 15 dollars a month for it. From what we can see of the free content, it's trash and there is no reason to believe it gets any better with a paid subscription.
Like Clayton Murphy said, they mostly just copy news from other sites/sources and put it behind a paywall.
Here is a link of Karissa Schwiezer talking about her breakout XC national championship behind flotrack's paywall:

And here is the same video on youtube for free:

With the exception of the House of Run Podcast, Flotrack produces very little original content worth consuming, is devoid of thoughtful commentary or insight, and is not helping to the grow the sport in any meaningful way.
They;re b---s---. We're told they were not welcome at our HS meet since we were having another group do our event photography and videography. They showed up anyway and they had to be removed by security.
Which meet? They don't show up without approval so be careful before slandering a good organization. Your IP address can be traced.
But how can you be a fan and not watch all if the meets that they cover? USA champs? Iowa State Indoor? NCAA?
Lol get the f*ck out of her Ryan from Flotrack.
Pathetic responses.
Everyone is complaining about paying for FloTrack. The cost covers multiple platforms that many people might not use. As a coach I pay for a milesplit subscription which includes FloTrack ( of course that is really the reverse I guess)
Not a response. A question. Flotrack covers most of the largest meets so how do you haters watch NCAA XC regionals or championships? How do you watch USA track championships? How do watch conference track meets? They also put some great documentaries together.
