I personally never met someone who can run a mile that fast without training
You haven't met nearly anyone. You post runnersworld style queries day after day, so that is obvious. There are in fact beginners who can run a sub 5 mile with only a couple months of low mileage training or even no training, having come from another sport. With 4 years of hs running, some of these guys are running well under 15 (for 5k) and 410 (mile) by the time they enter college. Adults who can do this are exceeding rare because of the unhealthy American/western lifestyle.
