In case you missed it Yegerova flunked an EPO test in France and got off on a technicality.

I don't think Paula held up signs about any of the other runners who were beaten here, just the won who flunked a test, so your theory is bs.

The test in Paris was simply indicative of more testing -- as the results were within a NORMAL range. Olga Yegorova has passed every test.

Paula cheated with her public derision of a better runner for her own personal gain. A runner who she was not able to beat and was afraid to run against on the track, so she used illicit means to try to get her banned from the sport.

Do you know what Olga Yegorova's sample was and how it compares to the protocol? I bet you do NOT. The IAAF has already stated it was in the paraments for NORMAL. Which means NOT positive. The IAAF never said it was a positive sample. PAULA RADCLIFFE WAS THE ONE WHO SAID THAT over and over in press to try to get rid of a better runner.

Obviously she succeeded because now every female runner is afraid to beat her and end up getting more of the same treatment that OY got.

Tatiana Kazinkina ran 8:22 some 30 years ago, and with no competition.

Olga Yegorova ran several times as fast in the 3000m and faster at 5000m as Radcliffe.

Wang Junxia ran 8:06 for 3000 meters and 29:31 for 10000 meters which are much MUCH faster than Radcliffe. She ran a 3:51 1500 and finished her WC marathon at 2:15 pace. She finished her 10k with a 14:26.0 5000 and could have smashed the 5000m mark to bits.

Wang Junxia was a far FAR better runner than Paula Radcliffe.

So wherever you get that PR is minutes ahead of the world, think again.

The only thing she has going for her is that if any runner dares to beat her she will give them the same treatment she gave Olga and lamblast them with lies and deception in the press.

But that is not good running. It is simply getting rid of the competition.

I had respect for PR when she was running honestly -- but no more.

If she ever apologizes and gives reparation to the other runners she has tarnished then I might gain back some respect for her but not before that.

In the meantime she needs to take her own CHEATS OUT advice and get out of the sport.

It will be a much better place without her.

You are not correct here at all.First Yego's controversy was firing up before 10000m.Not only Radcliffe but also other many distance runners.And she hasn't been doing what you express.She is so careful to do such things contrary to your expression.She does so when we are 120 % sure.

Adere or Szabo are in shape.But Russian trio can't run like they did last year.I can't say why.Tulu is not in shape at all because of injury.O'sullivan's era passed .She is no more legend(still good runner though).Wami is suffuring from an injury.Ribeiro and Meyer and Ouaziz are not in shepe because they had injuries.Lorupe is bad because of many reasons.Ma's army's greatness dissapeared long ago.Mackiernan still has an injury.Barsosio doesn't even apper .Malot is not doing well,though she trains in Japan I don't know why.haven't heard about Cheromei.

Yes, i'm saying, look at her 10k time, and several other of her insanely good marks. OBVIOUSLY they are not World Records, but, it's not like she's just winning races because the competition sucks due to her only competing against mediocre winners. I'm simply saying, COMPARE her times to those of history, and you'll see that she belongs up with some of the best, time-wise, people who ran way before her.

You are wrong here .Permanent normal was her sample at World championship.Not at Paris.IAAF kenw it was a positive sample ,that's why they suspended her.And you are wrong at later statement ,too.

Tatyana Kazankina, while a gifted athlete I presume, ended her career by refusing to take a drug test and accepting a 2-year ban. Its like Kenneth Lay of Enron taking the 5th. Comparing these athletes with Kazankina is a comparison you shouldn't make.

My dunes runner, what a wonderful person you are to anonymously post scathing insults about one of the hardest working runners in the sport male or female.

You must be so proud of yourself to tear down someone who actually TRIES to reach their goals instead of spending their lives discouraging others.

I think you should certainly examine what your own insecurities and problems are, because otherwise you would never have started this thread.

Reading, with interest, at the comments made by both parties opposed, and in favour of the \'supposed\' actions made by Paula Radcliffe, Olga Yagorova and the like just before, and during the world championships last year I felt that maybe in the mist, hype and scandal of drugs in athletics we are perhaps forgetting other reasons.

Firstly, to \'dunes\' runner, who posted the somewhat controversial message about Paula not being a \'real runner\',and rather angrily accusing her of being a CHEAT!

Maybe the decision by Paula to hold up a sign stating \'EPO CHEATS OUT\' may have not been such a wise one,as you feel that she was discrediting athletes that she feared. Consulting your comments again, I was interested to read that you believed that she made an \'ass\' of herself for holding up that sign. Interested because at the end of your message you seemed to rant CHEATS OUT...SO GET OUT...CHEAT,exactly the same thing that you criticised Paula for in the first place. Maybe those critical, vindictive and snide comments were not such a wise idea on your part as all you seemed to have done contradicted yourself.Finally, if you want to see an example of Paula being a \'real runner\' try and see if you can watch a re-run of the 2002 Flora London Marathon!

Secondly, to all those people who found it difficult to stomach those comments made by \'dunes\' runner,studying the facts myself I believe that we should respect his opinion. Yegorova didnt fail a drugs test, she tested positive on her urine sample. The rules state that one has to fail both the urine and blood tests to be disqualified from competition and rules are rules. For me, holding up an sign accusing someone of cheating is far less effective than actually getting out there and doing the business on the track.

In closing, i think that this is what most of the people making critical remarks about athletics need to do.

If Yegorova was not using EPO, that sign that Paula held up should not have bothered her in the least! The sign merely said "EPO CHEATS OUT". If Yegorova was not an EPO cheat, then she should have had no concerns and it shouldn't have scared her off.

By the way, Yegorova's sample did test positive for recombinant EPO, but it was mishandled which led to her "getting off on a technicality".
