Talking about the Olympic Trials Rupp said, "It's been a real big build-up; it's been going really well." But he added that with the focus on the Trials, he isn't "in the greatest half-marathon shape" coming into Houston. "That would be tremendous. Obviously, I've got to get it done on the day. That's one of the brutal, but fun, things about the system we have here, that it all comes down to getting it right and being in the top three on race day. I think that pressure is great and really prepares Team USA for when we go to the Olympics to get it done there."

How will Rupp and Sara Hall look with the Olympic Trials just 3 weeks away? Boston/NYC Marathon champ Hellen Obiri leads the women's field where Weini Kelati will make her debut. Coach Stephen Haas is pumped as he thinks Kelati will eventually be "world-class" in the marathon.

Right now, a 60:47 half marathon clocking for Rupp would move him up to #64 on the Road To Paris Rankings. *MB: Galen Rupp (& Hellen Obiri) to run Houston Half. If Rupp runs 60:47 or faster, he'll move up to #64 on Road to Paris list.
