Ryan Shay Autopsy Results
March 18, 2008
by: LetsRun.com

Ellen Borakova, the Director of Public Affairs of the New York Chief Medical Examiner has released the following to Joe Shay, Ryan's father, on the cause of death for Ryan:

Cardiac arrhythmia due to cardiac hypertrophy with patchy fibrosis of undetermined etiology.
    Natural Causes.

The above results will be released to the general public at 4:30pm. The full report will only be released to the family. Mr. Shay and the family will receive the full report in as long as two weeks, after formally requesting it. The Shay family will be releasing a statement later today with their thoughts on the cause of the death.

Mr. Shay said the toxicology report was negative. When asked if receiving the autopsy results was a difficult process, Mr. Shay said, "It's part of the grieving process. It's got to be done. You do what you can".

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Shay family. The Ryan Shay Tribute on LetsRun is here.
