Kip Keino Mile Update: Masters Prize Money, Come Take Part in the Weekend
by: LetsRun.com
April 18, 2007

March 21, 2007 -LetsRun.com's Weldon and Robert Johnson are helping arrange the Elite professional fields for the inaugural Kip Keino mile on May 13th, 2007 in Ithaca, NY. While the focus of this year's race is on the professional men's and women's miles (Carrie Tollefson and the oh so hot Anthony Famiglietti (13:11 5k this past weekend, US 8k champ last month) have been announced as competing)), we are pleased to announce that there will be $250 first place prize money for the Masters track miles (men and women). (There is no planned travel assistance for the masters miles)

In addition to the professional and masters miles on Sunday, there is a Borg Warner Health and Fitness Expo on Saturday and an elegant VIP $125 a plate dinner on Saturday night with Kip Keino at Cornell University that is open to the public. Plus on Sunday there are Corporate, Club, and Open 4*400s, plus a men's and women's open mile, in addition to the masters and elite miles. So come and take part in the action. If you are interested in participating in any of these events email Weldon at or feel free to check out the race website.

(As for the professional fields, we will be announcing more names shortly. Tentatively there are 5 3:55 or better milers in the men's field. The men's professional field is pretty full at this point but there is still room for a few more women, so if you're interested in running email Weldon at the address above)
