FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. — HOKA ONE ONE Northern Arizona Elite team member Stephanie Bruce will be running the 34th annual California International Marathon onDecember 4, theSacramento Running Association announced today.
Bruce, whose 2:29:35 marathon personal best was set in 2011, has garnered national attention for her willingness to share her journey through two pregnancies with runners of all ages and abilities. In the past six months Bruce has been featured on Inside Edition, Today.com and in People Magazine. She was recently honored as one of twenty women who are changing the sport of running (and the world) by Women’s Running. Bruce and husband Ben, also a member of the HOKA NAZ Elite team, have two sons: two-year-old Riley and one-year-old Hudson.
Bruce said she chose CIM after watching the event in person in 2015.
“Something in my heart just clicked this summer and having been a spectator at CIM last year I pictured myself running through the streets of Folsom and into downtown Sacramento.”
HOKA NAZ Elite head coach Ben Rosario said he believes CIM will be the perfect place for Bruce to reacquaint herself with the marathon.
“As a team we have had a lot of success competing on the west coast and in Sacramento in particular,” Rosario said. “And for Steph, who’s an incredible rhythm runner, the CIM course will give her a chance to lock into her pace and really find out just how far she’s come over this last year.”
Stephanie Bruce’s sponsors also include Oiselle and Pro Compression. You can follow her on Twitter at @Steph_Rothstein or on Instagram @stephrothstein. To find out more about the NAZ Elite team visit www.nazelite.com and follow them on Twitter at @naz_elite.
