I'm hoping someone can give me their thoughts on what might be happening. I'm a junior, running 55 miles a week.
PR: 4:26. We just finished our third meet of the season. We have our hard workout Monday, a semi hard on Wednesday, race on Friday, Long run on Saturday and easy or off Sunday. I'm hitting all my paces on Monday and Wednesday, running easy miles easy, but am not running well at the meets.
An example week:
Monday: 4x800 at 2mile pace, 4x400 at mile pace and 3x200 at 800 pace. All with 2 minute rest.
Tuesday: easy
Wednesday: 8 minute tempo followed by 2x400, 3x200 at mile pace.
Thursday easy
Friday:race the 3200 along with 4x800, or 1600 along with the 4x800.
Saturday: long run of 90 minutes.
Should I slow the paces down a tad to make sure I am more rested for the meets, or just suck it up?
